A native of Clarke County, Mr. Hunsinger was a son of Mary Leachman, Athens, and the late Charles Hunsinger. He was employed with Watkins Motor Lines. A special memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Whitehall Baptist Church in East Athens. Survivors, in addition to his mother, include a daughter, Nicole Hunsinger, Comer; two brothers, Ronnie Hunsinger, Bowman, and Dickie Hunsinger, Colbert; and two sisters, Ann Massey, Hull, and Belinda Nash, Nicholson. Alma S. Waggoner Athens Alma Smith Waggoner, 94, died Monday, July 22, 1996. A native of Madison County, Mrs. Waggoner was a daughter of the late Moses and Mattie Lou Mize Ayers. She was affiliated with the Clarke County Board of Education for 20 years, retiring in 1967. She was married first to the late William Clarence Smith and then to the late Paul Waggoner. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today at Bridges Funeral Home chapel with the Revs. John Kesler and Dennis Kesler officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park. Survivors include three daughters, Eleanor Watts, Griffin, Dorothy Nagel, Fayetteville, and Lon Ellen Mericka, Stone Mountain; two sons, Melvin E. Smith, McDonald, and David P. Smith, Riverdale; 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Douglas Gray Homer Douglas Gray, 51, of 210 Morgan St., died Monday, July 22, 1996. A native of Banks County, Mr. Gray was a son of the late Frank and Rachell T. Ginn. He was a retired truck driver. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today at Ivie Funeral Home chapel, Commerce, with the Rev. Charles Hardy officiating. Survivors include his wife, Lila Cowart Gray; two sons, Kimsey Gray, Pendergrass, and Richard Gray, Carnesville; three daughters, Connie Fountain, Kathy McIntyre and Michelle Burghoff, all of Homer; four brothers, Belton Gray, Felton Gray, Carl Gray and George Gray, all of Carnesville; and eight grandchildren. Willie Joe Reeves Winder Willie Joe Reeves, 72, died Monday, July 22, 1996. A native of Walton County, Mr. Reeves was a son of the late George C. and Leonard Bell Watson Reeves and widower of Louise England Reeves. He was of the Baptist faith. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. today at Wise-Connolly Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Gary Carlyle officiating. Burial will be in Bethabra Baptist Church cemetery. Survivors include four sons, David Charles Reeves, Woodruff, S.C., Jackie Wayne Reeves and Bobby Eugene Reeves, both of Winder, and Roy K. The family is at the residence of Jackie Wayne Reeves. James E. Heard Athens James E. "Rock Steady" Heard, of 135 College Place, died Saturday, July 20, 1996. Mr. Heard was a native of Clarke County. Survivors include five sisters, Agnes Johnson, Candies Heard, Mary Helen Heard, Bernice Johnson and Othdella Johnson, all of Athens; two brothers, Tommy Heard and Stevie Heard, both of Athens; and several nieces and nephews. Rosa M. Crawford Athens Rosa M. Crawford, 69, of 1450 W. Hancock Ave., died Saturday, July 20, 1996. A native of Oglethorpe County, Mrs. Crawford was a daughter of the late Mary and John Crawford. She was a longtime resident of Clarke County. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Hill Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. Jesse Barnes Jr. officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Survivors include three daughters, Tracy Crawford, Donna Crawford and Linda Crawford, all of Athens; two sons, Donell Crawford and Kenneth Crawford, both of Athens; four sisters, Eunice Crawford, Lois Crawford and Mary Crawford, all of Athens, and Mildred Thompson, Atlanta; a brother, Edward Thomas, Athens; and a granddaughter. The family is at 218 Plaza St., Athens. Hurley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Ora Lee Martin Cornelia Ora Lee Herrin Martin, 81, of Mud Creek Road, died Monday, July 22, 1996. A native of Habersham County, Mrs. Martin was a daughter of the late John M. and Effie Watson Herrin and widow of Joe Martin. She was a homemaker and was a member of Mud Creek Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Mud Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Clyde Garrison and Roy Lee Mitchell officiating. Graveside services will be in the church cemetery with the Rev. Burt Crawford officiating. Survivors include four sisters, Beulah Faulkner, Alto, and Gladys Ferguson, Naomi Mitchell and Laverne Slappy, all of Cornelia; three brothers, Aaron Herrin, Austin, Texas, Talmadge Herrin, Baldwin, and Marshall Herrin, Cornelia; and several nieces and nephews. Whitfield Funeral Home, Baldwin, is in charge of arrangements. Mary S. Teasley Toccoa Mary Simpson Teasley, 71, of 892 Braswell St., died Saturday, July 20, 1996. A native of Stephens County, Mrs. Teasley was a daughter of the late Harrison and Beatrice Richie Simpson. She was a member of Mount Sinai F.B.H. Church and was a member of the Angretta Gospel Singers. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Mount Sinai F.B.H. Church with the Revs. J.H. Lewis and Daniel Wright officiating. Burial will be in Ellis Chapel C.M.E. Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mona-Aleica Ruff, Killeen, Texas, and Yvonne Baker, Toccoa; five sisters, Willie Cash, Undine Keye, Lois Keye, Emma Jo Simpson and Bessie Simpson, all of Toccoa; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Moss-Stovall-Neal Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 'Gip' Perry Athens Claude Gibson "Gip" Perry, 71, of 158 Talmadge St., died Tuesday, July 23, 1996. A native of Stephens, Mr. Perry was a son of the late Jeptha Harris and Chloe Hansford Perry. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, and was a warehouse manager for Thornton Brothers Paper Co., a line manager at Athens-Ben Epps Airport and a driver of Healan Auto Parts. He was a member of AMVETS, Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion, and was a Mason. Graveside services will be Thursday at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. E.R. Healan officiating. Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou Shelton Perry; three sons, Chuck Perry, Atlanta, David Perry, Athens, and Joe Perry, Hull; two daughters, Lynn Elliott, Colbert, and Dana Adkins, Winterville; two brothers, J.H. Perry, Lavonia, and Gene Perry, Athens; two sisters, Sara P. Harrison, Sarasota, Fla., and Annette Pophan, Castleberry, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.
