Brooks Comer Viola Louise Brooks, 89, of Route 2 Box 191, died Monday, Dec. 23, 1996. A native of Jonesville, S.C., Mrs. Brooks was a daughter of the late Jim and Minnie Skates and the widow of Alice Cornelius Brooks. She was a homemaker and a member of Grace Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the chapel of Brown Funeral Home, Danielsville, with the Rev. James Olds officiating. Burial will be in Davids Home Church Cemetery. Survivors include a son, Gerald Brooks, Comer; a sister, Mollie Moss, Packlett, S.C.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends 9-11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The family will be at the residence of Gerald Brooks, Route 2, Comer. Brady 'Red' Dunn Bowersville Brady Lee "Red" Dunn, 55, died Tuesday, Dec. 24, 1996. A native of Clarke County, Mr. Dunn was a son of Laura D. Dunn, Bowman, and the late Sam Dunn. A U.S. Army veteran, he was a retired truck driver and a member of Antioch Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Hicks Funeral Home, Elberton, with the Rev. Connie Ivester officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include, in addition to his mother, his wife, Carolyn Stowe Dunn, Bowersville; two daughters, Lisa Dunn, Bowersville, and Syble Dunn, Royston; three brothers, Mallory Dunn, Kendall Dunn and Norman Dunn, all of Bowman; two sisters, Dorieta Webb and Susie Saxon, both of Elberton; and two grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jerry Griffith, Troy Colquitt, Floyd "Buddy" Jordon, R.L. Dunn, Asbury Dunn Jr., Kermit Booth and Jimmy Hall. The body is at the funeral where the family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Thursday. The family is at the residence of his mother, 2710 Dunn Road, Bowman. Exie F. Holliman Elberton Exie Lucile Fountain Holliman, 91, of 397 Church St. died Monday, Dec. 23, 1996. A native of Wilkinson County, Mrs. Holliman was a daughter of the late Charles H. and Mary Davis Fountain and was the widow of Ira Pickens Holliman. She earned master's and doctorate degrees from Mercer University and a doctorate in education from Brewton-Parker College. She was a retired school teacher and a member of Elberton First Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church with Drs. C.E. Jackson, Kirby Godsey and Y. Lynn Holmes officiating. Burial will be in Snow Hill Cemetery, Gordon. Survivors include a sister, Janie E. New, Elberton; and nephews and great-nephews. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. today at Hicks Funeral Home. The family is at the residence. Memorials may be made to the church. Janice LaCount Harlem Janice Hunt LaCount, 62, of 300 W. Boundary St. died Monday, Dec. 23, 1996. A native of Troup County, Mrs. LaCount was a daughter of the late William and Vera Smith Hunt. She was Miss LaGrange in 1952 and was a former member of LaGrange Jaycettes and St. Pauls Episcopal Church, Savannah. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Evergreen Memorial Park with the Rev. Buford Lockman officiating. Survivors include her husband, Thomas LaCount; a son, Paul LaCount, Harlem; a daughter, Cindy Pinion, Virginia Beach, Va.; a sister, Paula Hunt, Savannah; two grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of the State Revenue Department. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society. Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, East, is in charge of arrangements.
