A native of Spalding, Co., Ms. Bell was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Hartsfield Banks Bell. An employee of the University of Georgia's Extension Service, she was a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with the Rev. Walter Logan officiating. Survivors include several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews. The family will receive friends at McCullough Funeral Home 7-9 p.m. today. Conner Madison Thelma Bone Conner, 75, of 1050 Plainview Road, died Tuesday, Dec. 24, 1996. A native of Dublin, Mrs. Conner was a daughter of the late Bradford C. and Annie Evans Bone and the widow of Maxie Conner. She was a homemaker and a member of Madison Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Madison Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob Bone and Dr. Jim Ross officiating. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park. Survivors include a son, Marshall Gwenn Conner, Valdosta; a daughter, Maxine Nabors, Madison; a brother, Marvin Bone, Madison; four grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. today at Simmons Funeral Home. 'Mama' Janie Hawkins Athens Janie Mae Johnson Hawkins, 90, 240 Dublin St., died Thursday, Dec. 19., 1996. A native of Jackson County, Mrs. Hawkins was a daughter of the late Lizza and Henry Johnson. She was a member of East Friendship Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at East Friendship Baptist Church with the Rev. James Kendrick officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. The remains will be placed in the church at noon. Sutton Demorest James Marion Sutton, 82, died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 1996. A native of Habersham County, Mr. Sutton was a son of the late Vaughn and Susie Smith Sutton. An educator and cattle farmer, Mr. Sutton served in the U.S. Army in World War II and received the Purple Heart military decoration. He was a member of the Clarkesville United Methodist Church.
