"Jim" Braswell, 89, of 133 S. Stratford died Thursday, Oct. 24, 1996. A native of Wilcox County, Mr. Braswell was a son of the late James Emory and Viola Smithart Braswell. He was a Naval Air Corps veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He retired from the military after 20 years and was an electronics inspector with Air Craft Manufacturing. He was a member of the American Legion and First Christian Church. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at First Christian Church with the Rev. Ray Austin officiating. Survivors include his wife, Norma Braswell; a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. James Arnold Braswell, Houston, and Dr. Martha Braswell, Athens; a daughter and son-in-law, Dr. Temmie Lois Braswell Shade and Ron Shade, both of Columbia, Md.; and four grandchildren, Jeanie Jones, Sumter, S.C., Allison Braswell, Watkinsville, and Stephanie Shade and Stacey Shade, both of Columbia, Md. Bernstein Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Thomas Roling Danielsville Thomas Roling, 67, of R-1 New Haven Church Road died Friday, Oct. 25, 1996. A native of Madison County, Mr. Roling was a son of the late Henry and Nell Nash Roling. He was an Air Force veteran and a heavy equipment operator at the University of Georgia. He was of the Baptist faith. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Pruitte Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. James F. Creason and Glenn Guest officiating. Burial will be in Community Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Annie Lou McElreath Roling; a son, Thomas M. Roling, Danielsville; and two grandchildren. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Lizzie P. Sherrer Crawfordville Lizzie P. Sherrer, 76, of 625 Johnson Road died Thursday, Oct. 17, 1996. A native of Taliaferro County, Mrs. Sherrer was a daughter of the late Jake and Rushie B. Plummer. She was a retired cook with the Wilkes County School System and a member of New Salem Baptist Church, where she served on the Mother Board. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at New Salem Baptist Church with the Rev. R.L. Reynolds officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include her husband, Clarence Sherrer; seven daughters, Sara Champion and Loretta Wheat, both of Crawfordville, Rushie B. Ushery, Norma J. Stephens and Arlinda A. A native of Veazey, Miss Moon was a daughter of the late John Henry Moon Sr. and Pearl Merritt. She was a homemaker and a member of Walker United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today at Walker United Methodist Church with the Revs. Rick Maeser and Wayne Monroe officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. George Walton Tignall George Walton, 52, of 4806 Florida Lane died Thursday, Oct. 24, 1996. A native of Tignall, Mr. Walton was a son of Willie D. Walton of Tignall and the late O.T. Walton. He was a rock quarry worker and a member of Pole Branch Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Pole Branch Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe Jones officiating. Jones, 70, died Friday, Oct. 25, 1996. Mr. Jones was a son of the late W.P. and Lela Walls Jones. He was a Marine veteran of World War II and recipient of the Purple Heart. He was retired from the maintenance department at St. Mary's Hospital and was a member of Bethabara Baptist Church. A native of Banks County, Mrs. Lewallen was a daughter of the late Leonard and Bessie Bennett Hardy. She was preceded in death by four sons, a sister and three brothers. She was a member of Pritchard Memorial Baptist, where she was active in the Lydia Martha Reflection Sunday School Class, the Sunago Singers and the Soup and Salad Bible Study Group.
