A native of Clarke County, he was a son of Barbara Bowman, Winder, and the late William D. "Billy" Brock. Memorial services will be at 7 p.m. today at Wise-Connolly Funeral Home Chapel, Winder, with the Revs. Roger Vest and Bill Hester officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Survivors in addition to his mother include a half brother, Donnie Bowman, Manchester, Tenn.; a half sister, Amanda Pritchett, Ila; a paternal grandfather, Clarence V. Brock, Winder; a maternal grandfather and stepgrandmother, Rudell and Liz D. Skinner, Smithland, Ky.; a maternal great-grandfather, William Skinner, Calvert City, Ky.; and aunts and uncles. Viola Stewart Union Point Viola Lewis Stewart, 87, of 108 Hillard St., died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 1996. A native of Taliaferro County, Mrs. Stewart was a daughter of the late Thomas J. Stewart and Willie Pearl Darden Stewart. She was the widow of the Leamon Stewart. She was a homemaker. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today at Greenlawn Cemetery with the Rev. David Key officiating. Survivors include four sisters, Edith Barnhart, Union Point, Willie Mae English, Greensboro, Edna Pittard, Stone Mountain, and Inez Wray, High Point, N.C. Bertie Cheatham Winterville Bertie Lee Cheatham, 93, of 365 Beaverdam Road, died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 1996. A native of Madison County, Mrs. Cheatham was a daughter of the late Francis Newton and Mary Graham McConnell. She was the widow of Joseph Guy Cheatham. She was a member of Tuckston United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Lord & Stephens Chapel, East, with the Revs. Herb Owen and Art Graves officiating. Forestglen Mortuary Inc. is in charge of arrangements. 'Nat' Crump Toccoa Nathaniel Edwin "Nat" Crump, 81, of Mize Road, died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 1996. A native of Franklin County, Mr. Crump was a son of the late Samuel Luther and Vinnie Williams Crump. He owned and operated N.E. Crump Grocery Store. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in World War II. He was a Sunday school teacher and church clerk at Hunters Creek Baptist Church, where he was a member. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Revs. Doug Burns and James Whitlock officiating. Burial will be in Hunters Creek Baptist Church cemetery. Pallbearers are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. today. Inez M. Patton Tifton Inez McMillan Patton, 88, died Saturday, Sept. 14, 1996. A native of Berrien County, Mrs. Patton was a daughter of the late Robert McMillan Sr. and "Mattie" Connell McMillan. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Patton, and an infant son. She was a retired employee of the Railway Express and a homemaker. She was a member of the Golden Age Club, the Tift General Hospital Auxiliary, and Northside Baptist Church. Funeral services were Sept. 18 at Northside Baptist Church. Burial was at Oakridge Cemetery. Survivors include two sons, Jim Patton, Patagonia, Ariz., and Carroll Patton, Athens; three brothers, Emory McMillan, Ocilla, Edwin McMillan, Albany, and R.H. McMillan Jr., Tifton; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Albert Smith Watkinsville George Albert Smith, 85, died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 1996. A native of Oconee County, Mr. Smith was a son of the late Samuel Herman Smith and Marie Elder Smith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Blanche Nash Smith. He was a member of the Watkinsville Civitan Club for more than 24 years, the Clarke-Oconee Cattleman's Association and the Oconee County Farm Bureau. He retired from the USDA Southern Piedmont Conservation Research Center and was a longtime Oconee County farmer. He was a member of Watkinsville First Christian Church and a member of the Christian Men's Fellowship. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Friday at Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, West, with the Rev. Byron Wells officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Church Cemetery. Tony Fowler Royston Tony Doyle Fowler, 43, of 165 Hale Crossing Road, died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 1996. A native of Gwinnett County, Mr. Fowler was a son of Colleen Lathan Fowler, Hartwell, and the late Doyle Fowler. Mr. Fowler was the owner and operator of Aztec Van Co. He was a member of Zidon Baptist Church, where he was a Sunday school teacher. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Zidon Baptist Church with the Revs. Paul Collins and Vern Dorminey officiating.
