Waters Commerce Floyd Elmer Waters, 69, of 160 Old Harden Orchard Road died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 1996. A native of Jackson County, Mr. Waters was a son of the late Arthur and Minnie Cowart Waters. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he was the former owner of the Nicholson Cafe. He was a member of the American Legion and Grove Level Baptist Church, Maysville. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the church with the Revs. Jeff Appling and Dennis Kesler officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 12:30 p.m. Survivors include his wife, Betty H. Waters, Commerce; three sons, Michael Nally, Crawfordville, and Bryan Sorrow and Danny Sorrow, both of Commerce; five daughters, Sherry Bennett, Ila, Judy Boswell, Athens, Ann Gillespie, Nicholson, Sandi Sturm, Garden City Beach, S.C., and Kathy Waters, Hoschton; two sisters, Lucille Jordan and Eva Owensby, both of Commerce; 17 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren. The family is at the residence and will receive friends 7-9 p.m. today at Little-Ward Funeral Home. Pledger Dills Athens Pledger Dills, 62, of 2285 Danielsville Road died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 1996. A native of Banks County, Mr. Dills was a son of Curtis A. Dills, Nicholson, and the late Janie Whitlock Dills. He was a carpenter. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Mount Carmel Baptist Church, Lula, with the Rev. James McDonald officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Ware was a daughter of the late Ada J. and King C. Bruce and the widow of T.R. Ware. She was a member of Broad River Baptist Church where she served on the Junior Usher Board and was a member of the senior choir.
