Blume Winterville Darren Howell Blume, 28, of 288 S. Main St., died Monday, Aug. 26, 1996. A native of Athens, Mr. Blume was a son of Charlotte C. Blume, Winterville, and Gerald Blume, Lilburn. He attended Clarke County schools and Tallulah Falls schools. He was self-employed as a dry-waller and was a member of the Classic City Community Church. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. today at Bernstein Funeral Home Chapel, Athens. The Rev. James Burkett will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park. Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his grandfather, William H. Chafin Jr., Crawford; two daughters, Savannah Leigh Blume and Annabelle Rose Blume, both of Watkinsville; two half-sisters, Jennifer Howard Blume and Julie Manning Blume, both of Lilburn; and two uncles, John H. Chafin, Athens, and Allen D. Chafin, Jackson. Pallbearers will be William Gentry, Scott Quinn, John Chafin, Allen Chafin, Paul Wenzel and Tommy Huff. Otis Lee Kitchens Homer Otis Lee Kitchens, 61, of 710 Chatham Road, died Tuesday, Aug. 27, 1996. A native of Franklin County, Mr. Kitchens was a son of the late Lovie Leonard and Estelle Roberts Kitchens. He was of the Baptist faith. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Indian Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. John King and Lewis Arties officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include two brothers, James Kitchens, Commerce, and Terry Kitchens, Homer; two sisters, Ruth Vaughn, Homer, and Joyce Brock, Danielsville; and several nieces and nephews. Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements. John D. Lyle Auburn John D. Lyle, 70, died Tuesday, Aug. 27, 1996. A native of Barrow County, Mr. Lyle was a son of the late Roy J. and Annie Bell Smith Lyle. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of Harmony Grove United Methodist Church and the Methodist Men's Club. He was a member of the Auburn Masonic Lodge and had worked 35 years with Riddick Tire Co. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Harmony Grove United Methodist Church with the Revs. Roger Vest and Bob Lanford officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Violette Elliott Lyle; a son, David Lyle, Auburn; six daughters, Connie L. O'Brien, Lithonia, Vicki L. Walker, Tifton, Beth L. Magness, Jill L. Deal and Amy L. Bishoff, all of Winder, and Marisha L. Durden, Auburn; 19 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Pauline Anderson Elberton Pauline Ethel Harper Anderson, 85, formerly of Concord Community, died Tuesday, Aug. 27, 1996. A native of Elbert County, Mrs. Anderson was a daughter of the late Thomas Oliver and Helen Craft Harper and widow of John Andrew Anderson. She was retired from the Elberton Manufacturing Co. and was a member of the Concord United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today at Hicks Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Stan Hamilton officiating. Burial will be in Concord United Methodist Church cemetery. Survivors include a son, John Douglas Anderson, Elberton; a daughter, Myra Anderson, Greensboro; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The family is at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Anderson, 1536 Double Bridges Road, Elberton. R. Otis Lovin Auburn R. Otis Lovin, 84, died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 1996. A native of Gwinnett County, Mr. Lovin was a son of the late Early and Pearl Hall Lovin. He was a member of Carl Baptist Church where he was a former deacon. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Smith Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Billy Atkins officiating. Burial will be in Carl Baptist Church cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Mary Moore Lovin; two brothers, Grady Lovin, Auburn, and Carson Lovin, Winder; four sisters, Pauline Stanley, Auburn, Alice Treadwell, Conyers, Grace Ridgeway and Geneva Perkins, both of Winder. Jones, 82, of 1981 Atlanta Highway, died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 1996. A native of Barrow County, Mr. Jones was a son of the late Grady and Jessie Patrick Jones. He was a retired carpenter and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Bogart Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by a son, Charles Jones. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church cemetery. The Rev. Donald Hogan will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Thelma Mobley Jones; a brother, Howard Jones, Los Angeles; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Donald Dial, Terrell Luke, George Cartee, Randall Arnold, Thomas Evans and Euraneous McLocklin. The family is at the residence. Wise-Connolly Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Arthur Broome Elberton William Arthur Broome, 30, of 2008 Montevideo Road, died Tuesday, Aug. 27, 1996. A native of Banks County, Mr. Broome was a son of Fannie Ruth Broome, Elberton, and the late Jefferson Bryson Brown. He was of the Baptist faith. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Beulah Pentecostal Holiness Church. The Revs. Tim Gaines and Dan Bailey will officiate. Burial will follow the service. Survivors, in addition to his mother, include three brothers, Billy Broome and Roy Broome, both of Toccoa, and James Broome, Elberton; two sisters, Sara Broome, Hartwell, and Betty Smith, Elberton.
