A native of Cabarrus County, N.C., Mrs. Beckham was a daughter of the late Samuel Joshua Hartsell and Lula Jane Dearmon Hartsell. She was a widow of Calvin C. Beckham. She was preceded in death by a son, Harold C. Beckham. She was a member of Calvery Presbyterian Church, Elberton, and Order of the Eastern Star. A native of Hart County, Mr. Cordell was a son of the late Thomas Albert Cordell and Fannie Shiflet Cordell. He was preceded in death by a son, Gregory Hugh Cordell. He was owner and operator of Cordell's Grocery and was a farmer. He was a former owner and operator of Cordell's Construction Co., Atlanta. He was of the Baptist faith. He retired from the Army after 30 years of service, attaining the rank of master sergeant.
