Phelps Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Annie Bell Ayers Hartwell Annie Bell Ayers, 90, of Cleveland Avenue died Thursday, Dec. 4, 1997. A native of Elbert County, Miss Ayers was a daughter of the late George W. and Georgia Hannah Pulliam Ayers. She was a graduate of the University of Georgia and was a retired librarian for the Hart County school system. She was an emeritus member of the Pilot Club of Hartwell and the Retired Teachers Association, and a member of Hartwell First Baptist Church, the Friendship Sunday school class, Day Baptist Women and Fellowship of Christian Seniors. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today at Strickland Funeral Home with Dr. Hugh Kirby and the Rev. Gary Purvis officiating. Burial will be in Dewy Rose Baptist Church Cemetery. Donnell Brown Athens Donnell Brown, infant son of LaToya Williams of 204 Towneville Place, Athens, and Andy Brown of Brown Bridge Road, Commerce, died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 1997. He was preceded in death by a grandmother, Sondra Brown. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today in Jones Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. He was preceded in death by three daughters, Mildred C. Phillips, Evelyn Hardigree Lawson and Edith Loraine Davis, and a son, the Rev. Bennie Clyde Davis Sr. An Army/Air Force veteran of World War II, he was a technician involved in television sales and service and was a member of Tyrus Baptist Church.
