The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. today at Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce. Mabin R. Bentley Cornelia Mabin R. Bentley, 76, died Monday, Jan. 6, 1997. A lifelong resident of Cornelia, Mr. Bentley was a son of the late Marietta Currier and M.R. Bentley Sr. He was a graduate of Cornelia High School and an Air Force veteran of World War II. He was employed by Community Bank and Trust and was retired from Stovall Tractor Co., where he was co-owner and manager. He was a member of Cornelia United Methodist Church, where he served as Sunday school superintendent, MYF adviser and chairman of the Board of Trustees, and was a member of the Administrative Board and the Men's Bible Class. Bradford Athens Mary Lewis Bradford, 94, died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 1997. A native of Wilkes County, Miss Bradford was a daughter of the late William E. and Margaret L. Bradford. She was a retired educator who taught at Clarke Central High School and in Oglethorpe County and served as principal at Fifth Avenue Elementary in Decatur. A native of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Mr. Forsythe was a son of the late Ben and Violet Law Forsyth and the widower of Eva Rathwell Forsythe. He was preceded in death by a son, Ronald C. Forsythe, and a granddaughter, Elizabeth "Muffin" Dye. He was a retired high school science teacher in Canada and a retired physics instructor at Auburn University. Lewallen Sr., 77, of U.S. Highway 441 North, Hollingsworth community, died Monday, Jan. 6, 1997. A lifelong resident of Banks County, Mr. Lewallen was a son of the late Bentley and Essie Ausburn Lewallen and the widower of Liza Mae Payne Lewallen. He was preceded in death by three sons, Kenneth Lewallen, Milton Lewallen and Edward Lewallen. He was a retired farmer and a member of B.C. Grant Baptist Church. A native of Chattanooga, Tenn., Mrs. Lund was a daughter of the late Elizabeth Pope Crowder and Walter Eugene Brown. She was born to them while they were living in Tunnel Hill where he was the pastor of the Methodist church. She was the widow of Dr. Horace O. Lund, whom she married on Dec. 19, 1940. A graduate of Mountville High School, she attended LaGrange College and earned bachelor's and master's degree in home economics from the University of Georgia. She was a member of Phi Upsilon Omicron, Phi Kappa Delta and Sigma Alpha Iota. She taught food and nutrition and received graduate degrees in early childhood development. She was an active volunteer and leader in Athens and Clarke County. She worked with the PTA on the local and state level, the Girl Scouts, First Methodist Church, Georgia Trust and Historical Preservation Society and the League of Women Voters. She was a charter member of the Bobbin Mill Garden Club and the Athens-Clarke Heritage Foundation. She won Athens Woman of the Year, the Community Service Award from the heritage foundation and the Golden Award of the Athens Business and Professional Women's Club. After retirement, she and her husband traveled extensively. After his passing in 1990, she continued to live in their Athens residence.
