A native of Jackson County, Mrs. Cody was a daughter of the late James Burke and Annie W. Kelley Williamson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Cody, and a daughter, Marie Butler. She was a retired seamstress and a member of Arcade Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Evans Funeral Home with the Rev. John Homer officiating. Burial will be in the Williamson Family Cemetery in Jefferson. Survivors include two sons, John Cody, Jefferson, and Joseph Cody, Ft. Valley; a daughter, Mary Blasingame, Rex; three sisters, Chloe Huff, Jefferson, Virginia Hoffman, Savannah, and Marie Palmer, Miami; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Dawson, 36, of 178 Georgia Ave. died Friday, August 8, 1997. Mr. Dawson was a son of the late Leslie and Imogene C. Sturgill Dawson. He was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church,Buford. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Wise-Connolly Funeral Home Chapel. Survivors include a daughter, Donna Dawson, Flowery Branch; a brother, George Dawson, Jefferson; two step-brothers, Ronald Sturgill, Flowery Branch, and Phillip Sturgill, Oakwood; a step-sister, Sherry Nix, Flowery Branch; and several nieces and nephews. A native of Madison County, Mr. Minish was a son of the late Hoke Smith and Eula Mae Maddox Minish. He was a retired tractor-trailer driver and a veteran of World War II. Eddie White Bessemer City, N.C. Eddie Dean White, 47, died Thursday, August 7, 1997. A native of Elbert County, Mr. Ward was a son of the late Robert M. and Iva Cordell Ward. He taught in the Elbert County School System for 30 years and served as principal of Rock Branch and Fortsonia Elementary schools. He was a member and past president of the Elberton Lions Club, a member of the Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission and a member of the Northeast Georgia Cattleman's Association. He was a member of New Bethel United Methodist Church and past chairman of the Administrative Board. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today at New Bethel United Methodist Church with the Revs. Mike Nickolich, Ed Sayer and Ray Melear officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
