A native of Jackson County, Mr. Bell was a son of Mary D. Bell of Commerce and George C. Bell of Clarkesville. He was a security guard, a graduate of Commerce High School and a member of Melvin Hill CME Church in Carnesville, where he served with the choir and Christian Youth Fellowship. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Melvin Hill Baptist Church in Carnesville with the Rev. Arthur Jones officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors, in addition to his parents, include a sister, Erica R. Webb, Columbia, S.C.; a brother, George M. Bell, Commerce; and a grandmother, Louvie Morris, Commerce. The family is at the residence and will receive friends 7-8 p.m. today at Mount Pleasant CME Church in Commerce. Moss-Stovall-Neal Funeral Home, Toccoa, is in charge of arrangements. Selma Broome Washington Selma Anderson Broome, 82, of 118 Beaverdam Road died Saturday, Nov. 8, 1997. A native of Wilkes County, Mrs. Broome was a daughter of the late Thomas Edward and Annie Kate Booker Anderson. She was a floral designer and a member of Newtown Baptist Church. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Resthaven Cemetery with the Revs. Albert Huyck and Paul Vickery officiating. Survivors include two daughters, Edith Josephine Wills, Birmingham, Ala., and Selma Anne Randall, Washington; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two nieces. Pallbearers will be Jim Burton, C.H. Randall Jr., Jerry Stover, Richard Nelms, Arthur Graves and John Webster. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. today at Hopkins Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Newtown Baptist Church. Alda Harbin Gainesville Alda Reecie Harbin, 85, of Hillcrest Avenue died Saturday, Nov. 8, 1997. A native of Jackson County, Mrs. Harbin lived in Hall County most of her life. The daughter of the late Dan and Ina Doss Wheeler, she was a homemaker and worked in the lunchroom at Candler Street School for many years. Mrs. Harbin was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today at Little-Davenport Funeral Home with the Revs. James Morgan and Fulton Boswell officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Robert Hunter Commerce Robert Norman "Bud" Hunter, 73, of 970 S. Broad St. died Saturday, Nov. 8, 1997. A native of Commerce, Mr. Hunter was a son of the late Robert Glenn and Laura Wilbanks Hunter. He was a textile worker with Harmony Grove Mills. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Ivie Funeral Home with the Revs. Billy Owensby and Jimmy Owensby officiating. Burial will be in Grey Hill Cemetery. Survivors include a nephew and his wife, Gerald and Shelia McElreath, Commerce; two cousins; two great-nieces; and a great-nephew. A native of Habersham County, Mr. Welborn was a son of the late Martin Vanburen and Lula Shirley Welborn. He was retired from Clarkesville Mill with 24 years of services and was a member of Level Grove Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Whitfield Funeral Home in Baldwin with the Rev. Terry Rice officiating. Burial will be in Level Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Daniel Wilbanks Sr. Toccoa Daniel Alexander Wilbanks Sr., 57, of 182 Fowlertown Road died Sunday, Nov. 9, 1997. A native of White County, Mr. Wilbanks was a son of the late Woodrow Wilson and Carrie Cabe Wilbanks. An Army veteran, he lived most of his life in Sanford, N.C., and was retired from Daniels Construction Co. after 38 years of service. He was of the Baptist faith. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary UteDeFlesch officiating. Burial will be in Stephens Memorial Gardens with VFW Post 4346 officiating.
