He was a carpenter, a farmer and a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and Sunday School teacher and a member of the choir and building committee. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Cross Roads Baptist Church with the Revs. Ben Coleman, David Wilson and Connie Mack Bowers officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. She was a retired educator who taught at Clarke Central High School and in Oglethorpe County and served as principal at Fifth Avenue Elementary in Decatur. Frank Moorhead Hartwell Dr. Frank Moorhead, 87, died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 1997. A native of Hart County, Dr. Moorehead was a son of the late Donzel Alexander and Mae Taylor Moorhead and the widower of Helen Storey. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Anne M. Segars. He was a retired Methodist minister, serving for more than 60 years. He attended Young Harris College and Emory and Northwestern universities. He served on the board of directors of Young Harris College and served as president of the Atlanta Christian Council of Churches and as chairman of the conference board of evangelism. He was a representative to the United Methodist General Conferences of the church and did mission work in Europe, India and the Caribbean. He served as minister of several churches in Georgia and was selected as district superintendent of the Atlanta Emory District. A native of Martin, Mr. Wilson was a son of the late Essie Vandiver and John A. Wilson Sr. He was the oldest living member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, where he served as Sunday School superintendent for 23 years. He managed Lavonia Freezer Locker for 35 years. He served as secretary of Tugaloo Baptist Association for two years and was a former member of Woodmen of the World. He attended Berry College in Rome.
