Dr. Robert Eugene "Bob" Saylors, 47, of 1206 Rutledge Way, Anderson, S.C., died Thursday, Dec. 11, 1997. A native of Franklin County, Dr. Saylors was a son of the Rev. R. Floyd and JoAnn Scott Saylors of Hartwell. He was a graduate of Hart County High School, the Medical College of Georgia and the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. He was a staff physician at the Anderson Area Medical Center Emergency Room. He was a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians and a member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Anderson, S.C. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War where he served as a Lt. Commander in the U.S. Navy. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Anderson, S.C. with Father Thomas Timlin officiating. Graveside services will be at Nancy Hart Memorial Park, Hartwell, with Rev. Sam Teel officiating. Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his wife, Elane Lambert Saylors; one daughter, Kegan Saylors, Anderson, S.C.; two sons, Scott Saylors and Zac Saylors, both of Anderson, S.C.; and one brother, Carl Clifton Saylors, Douglasville. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be physicians and staff of the Anderson Area Medical Center Emergency Room. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Strickland Funeral Home, Hartwell. Strickland Funeral Home, Hartwell, is in charge of arrangements. Oscar Thomas Canon Oscar Daniel Thomas, 61, of 111 Thomas St., Canon, died Thursday, Dec. 11, 1997. A native of Franklin County, Mr. Thomas was a son of the late Ace and Janie Keller Thomas. He was a bricklayer, a U.S. Army veteran, a member of the the Lavonia V.F.W., Canon Volunteer Fire Department and the Canon Baptist Church. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Pruitte Funeral Home, Royston, with the Revs. Paul Creason and Eldon Massey officiating. Burial will be in the Oak View Cemetery in Canon. Survivors include his wife, Myrtle Bennett Thomas, Canon; two sons, Stoney Thomas and Stevie Thomas, both of Canon; three sisters, Jimmie Sue Martin, Carnesville, Docia Strickland, Royston, and Joan Gray, Anderson, S.C.; four brothers,Elverage Thomas and Rev. Linda Barrett Elliott Toccoa Linda Barrett Elliott, 46, of Morgan Street, Toccoa, died Thursday, Dec. 11, 1997. A native of Stephens County, Ms. Barrett was the daughter of Jess Willard Barrett and the late Ellen Brown Barrett. She was a homemaker and member of Lakeview Baptist Church. Funeral services will be 2 p.m today at the chapel of Whitlock Mortuary, Toccoa, with the Rev. George Dean and Rev. Larry Wilbanks officiating. Burial will follow in Stephens Memorial Gardens. Survivors include a daughter, Kim Lazenby, Cornelia; a son, James Murray, Toccoa; three sisters, Jessie Wilkinson, Martha Cheek and Gail Barrett, all of Toccoa; five brothers, Douglas Barrett and Leonard Barrett, both of Martin; Donald Barrett, Eastanollee; Ronald Barrett, Culman, Ala.; and Perry Barrett, Grand Bay, Ala.; and three grandchildren. Whitlock Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Fred F. Cadle Hephzibah Fred F. Cadle, 81, of Hephzibah, died Thursday, Dec. 11, 1997. A native of Richmond County, Mr. Cadle was C.E.O. of C. & C. Trucking Company. He was a member of Mount Lebanon Baptist Church, the fifty and up Sunday school class, the Hephzibah Farmers Club, and American Legion Post No. 150. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. today at Mount Lebanon Baptist Church, Hephzibah. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Augusta. Survivors include his wife, Ester Edgar Cadle, Hephzibah; two daughters, Yvonne Cadle Ware, Toccoa, and Catherine Cadle Joiner, Garfield; a son, Ed Cadle, Augusta; one sister, Marjorie Cadle Miller, Seattle, Wash.; one brother, Ralph Cadle, Hephzibah; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Ron Johnson Winder Ron Johnson, 64, of 980 Mulberry Trail, Winder, died Thursday, Dec. 11, 1997. A native of Ward, West Virginia, Mr. Johnson was the son of the late William Nathan and Velma Irene Johnson Martin. He was a retired truck driver and member of the Protestant faith. Private funeral services will be held today. Survivors include his wife, Jean Johnson, Winder; three daughters, Terry Hayes, Loganville; Jane Kenney, Flagler Beach, Fla.; and Polly Lapsky, Winder; a son, Ronald Johnson II, Stone Mountain; and seven grandchildren. C.W. Brown Winterville C.W. Brown, 85, of 422 Smithonia Road, died Thursday, Dec. 11, 1997. A native of Madison County, Mr. Brown was the son of the late Columbus Webster and Mamie Lee Carter Brown. He was retired, having worked for Mathis Construction and co-founding Terry Development. He was a member of Winterville First Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and member of the men's Bible class. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. today at Winterville First Baptist Church with Dr. Rick Standard officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Park. Survivors include his wife, Randolph F. Brown, Winterville; two sons, Dwight W. Brown, Winterville, and Ronald W.
