A native of Danburg, Mrs. Burnette was a daughter of the late Willie and Julia Lee Cofer and the widow of Orange J. Burnette. She was a retired statistician and a member of New Ford Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today at New Ford Baptist Church with the Rev. Albert Rucker Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include a son, Willie Roland Robinson, Capital Heights, Md.; and two grandsons. McLendon Memorial Funeral Home, Washington, is in charge of arrangements. Lois Conklin Athens Lois W. Conklin, 70, of 180 Epps Bridge Road died Saturday, July 12, 1997. A native of Fayette County, Mrs. Conklin was a daughter of the late John F. and Mauda Strickland Woods and the widow of Floyd E. Conklin. She was connected with the Henson Corp. and was a member of Forest Heights Baptist Church. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Evergreen Memorial Park with the Rev. Mike Purdy officiating. Survivors include two sisters, Vivian Scarbrough, Ila, and Maybell Vandiver, Athens; a brother, Ed Woods, Maysville; and nieces and nephews. A native of Clarke County, Mrs. Davis was a daughter of the late Albert and Rachel Watkins and the widow of Ed Davis. She was a member of Billups Grove Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Billups Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Ben K. Willis officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. Survivors include four daughters, Lizzie Mae Johnson, Frances Johnson and Edna Nash, all of Winterville, and Joann Davis, Athens; a brother, Willie B. Winfrey's Mutual Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Lamar Oliver Toccoa Lamar Jackson Oliver, 84, of 644 Rosedale St. died Sunday, July 13, 1997. A native of Homer, Mr. Oliver was a son of the late John Jackson and Ora Ragsdale Oliver and the widower of Zemily Hitt Oliver. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a former partner of Tabor Motor Co. and a former city commissioner. He also served as mayor of Toccoa for three terms and served on the staffs of Govs. Sherman Talmadge, Marvin Griffin, Lester Maddox and Joe Frank Harris. He was an organizer of the Toccoa Civitan Club, a charter member of the Toccoa Rotary Club and a member of VFW Post 4346, American Legion Post 104 and First United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the Curtis-Wesley Sunday School Class. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church with the Revs. Randy Valimont and Bob Partridge officiating. Burial will be in Toccoa City Cemetery. Lawrence Shimkets Dewy Rose Lawrence Shimkets, 69, of 1161 Shimkets Drive died Sunday, July 13, 1997. A native of Pittsburgh, Mr. Shimkets was a son of the late Frank Joseph and Teresa Moteika Shimkets. He was preceded in death by two sons, Bob Shimkets and Peter Shimkets. He was a retired vice president of Screen Masters and a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Hartwell, where he was an usher and a minister of Eucharist. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with Father Walter Foley officiating. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Ehlinger Shimkets; three sons, Larry Shimkets, Arnoldsville, Ken Shimkets, Orlando, Fla., and Rick Shimkets, New Haven, Conn.; five daughters, Marian Smith, Key West, Fla., Peggy Grosse, Dewy Rose, and Donita Wood, Evelyn Parker and Linda Larsen, all of Orlando; two sisters, Helen Stadler, Pittsburgh, and Lillian Kolczynski, Williamsport, Pa.; and 14 grandchildren. Lillie Mae Stowe Toccoa Lillie Mae Hubbard Stowe, 94, died Sunday, July 13, 1997. A native of Franklin County, Mrs. Stowe was a daughter of the late Ed and Minnie Myers Hubbard. She was retired from Coats & Clark in Toccoa and was the oldest member of Clark's Creek Baptist Church and Willing Worker's Sunday School Class.
