A native of Jackson County, Mr. Arnold was a son of the late Emory H. and Lizzie Mae Pinson Arnold. He was a retired employee of Jefferson Mills and a World War II Navy veteran. He was a member of the Brockton Road Baptist Church, Jefferson. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Brockton Road Baptist Church with the Rev. Jesse Mealor officiating. Burial will be in Jackson Memorial Gardens, Commerce. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Arnold; a daughter, Kay Arnold Page, Athens; three sons, Hope Arnold, James Arnold and Frankie Arnold, all of Athens; a sister, Mary Lee Barrett, Commerce; a brother, Horace Arnold, Birmingham; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. today at Jackson Funeral Home, Jefferson. Lillian Cooper Colbert Lillian B. Cooper, 77, died Friday, Sept. 12, 1997. A native of Madison County, she was a daughter of the late Clarence R. Brown and Lougenia Roberts. She was a member of East Athens Baptist Church. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday at East Athens Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Leaptrott officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Memorial Park. Survivors include her husband, Stewart D. Cooper; a sister, Louida Christian Colovard, Colbert; and nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to the East Athens Baptist Church Building Fund. Bridges Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. John Edwards Sr. Bogart John H. Edwards Sr., 83, died Saturday, Sept. 13, 1997. A native of Oconee County, Mr. Edwards was a son of the late James T. and Margaret McElroy Edwards. He was a retired truck driver and a former member of the Bogart City Council. He was also a Bogart police officer and a member of Bogart First Christian Church. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today at Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. Ben Parker officiating. Burial will be in the Bogart Baptist Church cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Willie Mae Evans Edwards; five daughters, Gloria McCannon, Carlton, Sue Maddox, Winder, Jean Ridgeway, Statham, and Henrietta Patton and Carolyn Edwards, both of Bogart; a son, John H. Edwards Jr., Bogart; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Jessie Mays Lavonia Jessie Mae Allen Mays, 69, of 305 Randall St., died Sunday, Sept. 14, 1997. A native of Franklin County, she was a daughter of the late George H. and Lorene Chitwood Allen. She was preceded in death by two sons, Roger Dale Mays and Timothy Tommy Mays. She was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Hamby-Weldon Funeral Home with the Revs. Gettis Allen and Bobby Joe Allen officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors include her husband, Walter C. Carolyn Mosley Winder Carolyn Brown Mosley, 62, died Sunday, Sept. 14, 1997. A native of Barrow County, she was a daughter of the late Ezra Allen and Lois Belle Page Brown. She was preceded in death by a son, Otis Manus Jr. She was a retired seamstress at R&R Manufacturing. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry Brock officiating. Survivors include two sons, David Manus and Thomas Mosley, both of Winder; a brother, Bobby Brown, Winder; three sisters, Dorothy Brock, Ruth Knight and Marilyn Lee, all of Winder; and seven grandchildren. Gloria Stalnaker Bishop Gloria Juanita Covington Stalnaker, 70, of 1041 Old Bishop Road, died Saturday, Sept. 13, 1997. A native of Oconee County, she was preceded in death by a son, Lawrence A. Stalnaker, and a grandson, Steve Stalnaker. She was a retired seamstress from American Linen and was of the Methodist faith. Graveside funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday in Evergreen Memorial Park. Survivors include her husband, J.O. Stalnaker; a daughter, Gloria L. Horne, Danielsville; two sons, Jimmy L.
