A native of Madison County, Mr. Anglin was a son of the late Elmer and Ella Hunsinger Anglin. He was a service technician with American Pest Control. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Macedonia Holiness Church with the Revs. William Anglin and Roy Sorrow officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. Survivors include his companion of 21 years, Pauline Hopkins; three sons, Michael Anglin, Jefferson, and Dwayne Anglin and Tim Anglin, both of Statham; three sisters, Ella Mae Dove, Bonnie West and Irene Thompson, all of Ila; four brothers, Waymon Anglin, Jessie Anglin and Ardis Anglin, all of Danielsville, and George Anglin, Colbert; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends 6:30-8:30 p.m. today at Bridges Funeral Home. Eugene M. Boyce Athens eugene boyce BOYCE Eugene M. "Gene" Boyce died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 1997. A native of Polkton, N.C., Mr. Boyce was a son of Dr. and Mrs. BOYCEJ.M. Boyce. After graduating from Polkston High School, he worked in Virginia for one year to earn money for college, eventually attending Erskine College in Due West, S.C., where he met his future wife, Louise McCain. They married one year after graduation, and they both taught school for two years in South Carolina. Mr. Boyce later accepted a superintendent position at Stone Mountain. After three summers he earned a master's degree in chemistry from Emory University and then a doctorate degree in administration from Peabody in 1943. He then served as principal of Columbus High School, served two years in the Navy and then went to Tallahassee, Fla., to serve as director of the New Demonstration School at Florida State University. After 15 years there, with leave to work with United States Aid to International Development in Ethiopia and Nigeria, he accepted the directorship of a research and development center at the University of Georgia. After the center closed, he was a professor in the education department for 10 years, retiring in 1984. He was active in Presbyterian churches wherever he lived, serving on the session and teaching Sunday school. He was a member of Central Presbyterian Church in Athens. He was actively involved with international students on the campus, United Way, Habitat for Humanity and the Kiwanis Club, of which he was president in four cities. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Central Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his wife, Louise; two sons and daughters-in-law, William and Susie Boyce, Warren, N.J., and James and Marti Boyce, Atlanta; a daughter, Polly McLean, who lives in Baltimore with Eric Prior and her daughter-in-law Erin, whose husband is in Okinawa, Japan; and four grandchildren, Willis Boyce, N.Y., Nell Boyce, Washington, D.C., Todd Boyce and Brian Boyce, both of Atlanta. Naomi Haeseler Sardis Naomi Floyd Haeseler, 88, died Wednesday, Oct. 15, 1997. A native of Madison County, Mrs. Haeseler was a daughter of Jefferson Grat Floyd and Myra Jane Bullock. She was retired after 34 years as an elementary school teacher with Burke County school system. She attended the University of Georgia and was a graduate of Georgia Southern University. She was a member of Sardis United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Ladies Bible Class and Administrative Board. She was a charter member of Beta Zeta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International and a charter member of the Sardis Chapter 382 Order of the Eastern Star. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Sardis UMC with the Rev. Roy White officiating. Burial will be in Saint Mark's Cemetery. Survivors include a daughter, Sara H. A native of Franklin County, Mr. Phillips was a son of the late James Columbus and Ellen Scarborough Phillips. He was preceded in death by a son, Ernest Lee Phillips. He was a retired farmer and a member of New Hope Congregational Holiness Church, where he was Sunday school superintendent and deacon for many years. A native of Oconee County, S.C., Mrs. Taylor was a daughter of the late Marshall and Johnnie A. Adams and the widow of Lawrence L. Farmer and Darby Taylor. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane McBroom, two sons, Edwin Farmer and infant Perry Farmer, and a granddaughter, Stacey Farmer. She was a former radio dispatcher with the Lavonia Police Department, was formerly associated with Carwood Manufacturing Co., performed volunteer duties at Brown Memorial Convalescent Center and was a G.E.D. instructor. She was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church, where she served as adult ladies Sunday school teacher, was an R.A. and G.A. leader and a W.M.U. member for many years. She was a charter member of Whitworth Women's Club, with which she had been associated since the late 1920s. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today at Hamby-Weldon Funeral Home with the Revs. J. He was a retired superintendent with Cleveland Electric of Atlanta. He served in the Navy See Bees during World War II and was a member of White Oak Hills Baptist Church in Stone Mountain.
