Allen, 86, of Bear Gap Road died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 1997. A native of White County, Mr. Allen was a son of the late Charlie A. and Elzie Freeman Allen. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a farmer and a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Whitfield Funeral Home, Baldwin, with the Revs. Wilmer Ivester and Ernest Ivester officiating. Burial will be in New Liberty United Methodist Church Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Laura Ruth Nix Allen; a daughter, Birdie Defoor, Clarkesville; a son, Dennis Allen, Clarkesville; a sister, Ethel McAllister, Clarkesville; three grandchildren; and three stepgrandchildren. Ina Brown Hartwell Ina Brown, 83, died Saturday, Dec. 13, 1997. Mrs. Brown was the widow of George Brown and a member of St. James Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. James Christian Methodist Episcopal Church with the Revs. Hubert Langston and Eddie Thornton officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include three daughters, Catherine Stowers, Cleveland, Ohio, and Martha Morrison and Joyce Jones, both of Hartwell; a son, Joel Brown, Hartwell; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. The family is at the home of Joyce Jones, 85 Sardis Church Road. C.W. Phelps Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Henry Donath Lincoln, Ill. Henry L. Donath, 92, died Friday, Dec. 12, 1997. A native of Lincoln, Ill., Mr. Donath was a son of the late Joseph Donath and Lena Troeger and the widower of Marie Eimer. He was preceded in death by a son. He was retired from Lehn & Fink Co. and, with his wife, owned and operated the Karmel Korn Shop. He was a member of Holy Family Church. Funeral services were Monday at Holy Family Church with the Rev. Daniel Wilder officiating. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery. Survivors include three sons, Eugene Donath, Lincoln, Robert Donath, Springfield, Ill., and Leo Donath, Athens; a half sister, Rita Queen, Titusville, Fla.; a half brother, Raymond Donath, Lincoln; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Thomas Johnson Athens Thomas Jefferson "Jeff" Johnson Sr., 53, of 21 Vine St. died Saturday, Dec. 13, 1997. A native of Clarke County, Mr. Johnson was a son of Grace Clarke and the late James Clarke. An Army veteran of the Vietnam War, he was a machine operator at ABB for 29 years and a member of Billups Grove Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Billups Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Ben K. Willis and William Price officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Paulette Robinson-Johnson; a daughter, Ursula M. Johnson, Athens; two sons, Thomas J. Winfrey's Mutual Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Frances Richardson Hartwell Frances Isom Richardson, 69, of 1297 Whippoorwill Trail died Monday, Dec. 15, 1997. A native of Hart County, Mrs. Richardson was a daughter of the late Perry and Lallie Carnes Isom and the widow of James Thomas Richardson. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Martha Ann Richardson. She was a retired counter person for American Laundry & Drycleaning, where she worked for 28 years, and a member of Liberty Hill United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Liberty Hill United Methodist Church with the Revs. Nathaniel Long and Luther Kay officiating. Burial will be in Nancy Hart Memorial Park. The body will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. Survivors include three daughters, Brenda Spears and Sheila McCullough, both of Hartwell, and Carol Hendrix, Elberton; a sister, Eula Lee Keown, Anderson, S.C.; three brothers, Ealon Isom and Ray Isom, both of Hartwell, and Thomas Isom, Anderson; and five grandchildren. A native of Harlan, Ky., Mrs. Taylor was a daughter of the late Skelton and Betty Ball Fee and the widow of Archie Taylor. She was a teacher in Virginia. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Silver Leaf Baptist Church in Virginia with the Rev. James Whitaker officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Gardens in Virginia.
