A native of Oglethorpe County, Mrs. Bond was a daughter of the late Sam Walker and Pearl Burt Brown and the widow of James Harleston Bond. She had been employed by Majestic Beauty Salon and Toccoa Public Schools and was a member of First United Methodist Church and its ladies' Bible class. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today at Toccoa First United Methodist Church with the Revs. Jack Lamb, Bob Partridge, Randy Valimont and Roy Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Stephens Memorial Gardens. The body will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, ret. Lt. Calvin and Marie Bond, Griffin; two sisters, Thelma Land and Monteen Brown, both of Toccoa; two stepgrandchildren; and a step-great-grandchild. Pallbearers will be Ken Banks, Nathan Weaver, Tommy Thompson, Bill Hodges, Clyde Turner and David Carroll. Honorary escorts will be members of the First United Methodist Church ladies Bible class and the Trogdon Sunday school class. Gearold Bush Hull Gearold Lee Bush, 58, of Route 3 died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 1997. A native of Wolfe County, Ky., Mr. Bush was a son of the late Troy and Anna Townsend Bush. He was a retired landscaper and of the Baptist faith. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in Bush Cemetery in Zachariah, Ky. Survivors include his wife, Grace Batten Bush; five daughters, Lisa Ramos, Anchorage, Alaska; Shar Lipton, Gail Strange and Shonda Bush, all of Clay City, Ky., and Dean Crouch, Salt Lick, Ky.; and two stepdaughters, Kathy Arrendale, Hull, and Carol Anderson, Danielsville. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. today at Brown Funeral Home, Danielsville. Carol Chapple Athens Carol Ann Saupp Chapple, 60, of 251 Rivercliff Drive died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 1997. A native of Utica, N.Y., Mrs. Chapple was a daughter of the late Howard and Felicia Sudo Saupp. She was a co-owner and operator of Chapco Enterprises and was a member of Athens Chamber of Commerce and St. Joseph's Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Women's Council and volunteered for St. Joseph's Charities. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Athens Memory Gardens. Survivors include her husband, Murry Chapple; two daughters, Leslie A. Chapple and Jill M. Chapple, both of Athens; a son, Bradley M. Chapple, Atlanta; a brother, Howard Saupp, Rochester, N.Y.; and three nieces. A native of Madison County, Mr. Crowe was a son of the late Charlie and Sally Echols Crowe and the widower of Hilda Wood Crowe. A Navy veteran of World War II, he was retired after 37 years at WABCO. He was a member of Toccoa Masonic Lodge 309 F&AM, Order of Eastern Star, the Shriner's and First Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and a member of the Davis Vaughn Sunday school class. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today at Whitlock Mortuary with Dr. Henry Fields and the Rev. Byron Kennerly officiating. Burial will be in Stephens Memorial Gardens. A native of Oglethorpe County, Mrs. Seymour was a daughter of the late Ed Watkins and Mildred "Mattie" Johnson Stevens and the widow of Thomas Seymour. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ann Seymour Hopkins. She was a retired schoolteacher who taught school in Tennessee for many years. She was a member of Carlton Baptist Church.
