Marshall Athens Frances R. Marshall, 88, of 450 Cherokee Ridge died Friday, Aug. 15, 1997. A native of Siloam, Mrs. Marshall was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hal A. Rhodes and the widow of John W. Marshall. She was preceded in death by a son, Harold R. Marshall. She was a homemaker, a member of the Duplicate Bridge Club and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Athens. Graveside services were at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Evergreen Memorial Park with Dr. Joe Berry officiating. Survivors include three sons and three daughters-in-law, Ann and John W. Marshall III, Faye and Patrick E. Marshall Sr. and Dane and William C. Marshall; a daughter and a son-in-law, Ted and Mary Marshall Wade, Smyrna; two sisters, Elizabeth Martin, Atlanta, and Rebecca Nelson, Banning, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Morgan, 79, of U.S. Highway 78 died Sunday, Aug. 17, 1997. A native and longtime resident of Oglethorpe County, Mr. Morgan was a son of the late James Lee and Viola Nelson Morgan and the widower of Lotis Fortner Morgan. Mr. Morgan was a retired electrician and a member of Arnoldsville Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today at Arnoldsville Baptist Church with the Rev. Lee Hunter officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. in Mintons Chapel Advent Christian Church Cemetery, Kite, with the Rev. Norman Ashworth assisting. Survivors include a daughter and a son-in-law, Connie and Kevin Kellum of Crawford; four sisters, Lois White, Crawford, Mildred Bradford, Rayle, and Ruth Hobbs and Jeanette Bradley, both of Chattanooga, Tenn.; a brother, Jim Morgan, Oak Ridge, Tenn.; two grandsons, Trent White and Kyle White, both of Crawford; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was a former recreation manager for Toccoa- Stephens County and retired from the state Board of Corrections. He was a member of First Baptist Church, the Jess Hayes Sunday school class and was a former member of Toccoa Lions Club. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today at Whitlock Mortuary. Dr. Henry Fields will officiate. Burial will be in Toccoa City Cemetery. William Shackelford Lexington William Alsa Shackelford, III, 58, of 20 Clark Circle died Sunday, Aug. 17, 1997. A native of Oglethorpe County, Mr. Shackelford was a son of Lila Edwards Shackelford of Lexington and the late Pat Stevens Shackelford Sr. He was a member of Lexington Baptist Church and retired from the Soil Conservation Commission. A native of Habersham County, he was a son of Carolyn Pritchett Tomlin of Cleveland and the late Thomas Tomlin. He was a student at White County High School where he was a former manager of the basketball team and former member of the football team. He attended Baldwin Church of God. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Chattahoochee Baptist Church, White County, with the Revs. W. A. Jenkins and Verner London officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Webb Dewy Rose Mrs. Claudia Esther Busby Webb, 77, of 2625 Lester Road died Monday, Aug. 18, 1997. A native of Madison County, Mrs. Webb was a daughter of the late Joe William Busby and Hattie Esther Seymour Busby. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Virginia Marion Webb. She was a homemaker and a member of Second Baptist Church, College Park. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Berry Funeral Home, Elberton, with the Rev. David Shelley officiating.
