A native of Habersham County, Mr. Carroll was a son of the late Luther and Alice Potts Carroll. A Navy veteran of World War II, he was retired from Royal Crown Bottling Co. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4346, a member and past president of Stephens County Farm Bureau and was of the Presbyterian faith. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Providence Baptist Church, Batesville, with the Rev. Truitt Brawner officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. Survivors include his wife, Linnie Barron Carroll; two sons, Glenn Carroll, Gainesville, and Jerry Carroll, Calhoun; a brother, Frank Carroll, Ormond Beach, Fla.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren. A native of Wilkes County, Mr. Jones was a son of Thurston Cade of Tignall and the late Sallie F. Cade. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Pole Branch Baptist Church with the Rev. A native of Gwinnett County, Mrs. Hendrix was a daughter of the late George and Barbara Forreter Pool and the widow of Floyd Hendrix. She was retired after 30 years of teaching at Summerville and Fayette County schools and was district supervisor for Fayette County. Betty Skinner Griffin Betty Mountcastle Skinner, 73, of 1123 Maple Drive died Tuesday, July 15, 1997. A native of Fulton County, Mrs. Skinner was a daughter of the late William R. and Ruth Potts Mountcastle. She was a retired secretary and librarian at the Medical College of Georgia, a past member of the Utility Club and Girl Scouts, and a member of the Daughters of the King, Altar Guild and Christian Education, and St. George's Episcopal Church. Funeral services were Thursday at St. George's Episcopal Church with the Rev. J. Spurgeon Hays officiating. Burial was in Covington City Cemetery. She was a paraprofessional at Hartwell Elementary School and a beautician, and a former member of the Pine Tree Garden Club.
