Carey, 93, of 144 Carey St. died Wednesday, June 18, 1997. A native of Madison County, Mrs. Carey was a daughter of the late Emma Crowe and H.T. "Bud" Martin Sr. and the widow of D.L. Carey. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Gwendolyn Carey and Gladys Carey. She was a homemaker and a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Jones Chapel United Methodist Church with Mark Carey and the Revs. Mike Griffin and Lloyd Robinson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 3 p.m. Survivors include five sons, Wallace L. Carey, Morrow, Martin Carey, Bowman, James Larion Carey, Starr, S.C., Raleigh B. Carey, Hull, and Ross Carey, Colbert; four daughters, Sybil Carey Schoyen and Ferrol Carey Tyner, both of Decatur, Marie Carey Young, Gainesville, and Linda Carey Wickliffe, Colbert; two sisters, Claudell Scarborough, Winter Garden, Fla., and Merle Dalton, Danielsville; 26 grandchildren; and 38 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Brent Carey, Michael Carey, Ronald Carey, Tony Carey, Chris Carey, Greg Carey, Dennis Moye and Kola Payne. The family is at the residence of Martin and Carol Carey, 144 Carey St., and will receive friends 7-9 p.m. today at Pruitte Funeral Home, Royston. Annie Eberhardt Athens Annie Maude "Honey" Davenport Eberhardt, 79, of 251 Plaza St. died Monday, June 16, 1997. A native of Clarke County, Mrs. Eberhardt was a daughter of the late James and Curlie Davenport and the widow of Robert Lee Eberhardt. She was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church with the Rev. Abraham Mosley officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Survivors include a brother, William Davenport, Athens; a niece raised in the home, Sher- ryal Booker-Thompson, Athens; a brother-in-law, Ben Taylor, Athens; two devoted nieces, Laura Harris and Phyllis Booker, both of Athens; her adopted family, Mrs. Dorothy (Jim) Newland and Mr. Walter (Sally) Sams III, both of Athens, and Milton Sams, Atlanta; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Agnes Henry Athens Agnes Pauline "Polly" Henry, 89, died Sunday, June 15, 1997. A native of Henry County, Va., Mrs. Henry was a daughter of the late John Hannibal and Lottie Bondurant Martin and the widow of Robert Gilbert Henry. She had lived most of her life in Athens and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Evergreen Memorial Park with the Rev. Grady Wigley officiating. Survivors include a brother, Julian H. Martin Sr., Fort Belvoir, Va.; and nieces and nephews. Patrick Murdock Collierville, Tenn. Patrick Murdock, 32, of 994 Wild Bird Lane died Sunday, June 15, 1997. A native of Fort Dix, N.J., Mr. Murdock was a son of Thomas and Virginia Murdock, Asheville, N.C. He was a credit manager at The Associate Financial and a member of the Church of the Incarnation. A member of the Knights of Columbus, he had received a bachelor's degree from the University of Georgia and a master's degree in business administration from Mercer University, Atlanta. A native of Hart County, she was a daughter of the late James Isom and Vido McCurley Shiflet. She was a retired sitter for the elderly and was a member of Hart County Senior Center and New Prospect Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at New Prospect Baptist Church with the Revs. Jim Olds, Furman Brown Lewis and Wade Bridges officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. Survivors include five nieces, Haley Teasley, Betty Welborn, Peggy Wilson-Grzybowski and Kay Alewine, all of Hartwell; two nephews, Jim Campbell, Hoganville, and Leslie Randall, Atlanta; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. A former co-owner of Universal Memorials, she was a member of Elberton First United Methodist Church and of Ladies Golf Association. She was a homemaker.
