A native of Fannin County, Mrs. Beaver was a daughter of the late Newt and Rachel Johnson Ward and the widow of Prince Beaver. She was a homemaker and a member of Morganton Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Concord Baptist Church with the Rev. Howard Spruill officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Survivors include two daughters, Faye Burdick, Elyria, Ohio, and Beatrice Millholland, Hoschton; a son, James Ernest Beaver, Morganton; five sisters, Nellie Flowers, Bondell Fain, Thelma Fortenberry and Ann Hemphill, all of Chatsworth, and Pearl White, Gulfport, Miss.; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Carter-Stewart Funeral Home, Winder, is in charge of arrangements. Joe Benton Colbert Joe D. Benton, 81, of 187 Fourth St. South died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 1997. A native of Madison County, Mr. Benton was a son of the late Nathaniel and Bertha Whitworth Benton and the widower of Ouida Collier Benton. He was the owner and president of Colbert Seed Co. and was a former mayor of Colbert. He was a member of F&AM Shannon Lodge 404, the Shriners and Colbert Baptist Church. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Colbert Cemetery with the Rev. Ray Jenkins and Judge Robert Smith officiating. Survivors include a daughter, India B. Lesser, Macon; a sister, Helen Bennett, Gainesville; and nieces and nephews. The family is at the residence and will receive friends 7-9 p.m. today at Brown Funeral Home, Danielsville. Paul Chandler Athens Paul "Tommy" Chandler, 65, of Hiawassee Avenue died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 1997. A native of Clarke County, Mr. Chandler was a son of the late Otho Clinton and Mary Viola Christopher Chandler. He was preceded in death by a son, John Paul Chandler. He was retired from the paint department of the University of Georgia's physical plant, was a Navy veteran and attended West End Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Bernstein Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Elliott officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park. Survivors include his wife, Isabelle Chandler; a son, Chris T. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Florence Frasure Elberton Florence Cook Chapman Frasure, 87, of 2117 Dr. George Ward Road died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 1997. A native of Greene County, Mrs. Frasure was a daughter of the late Gerdy Cook and Maude Brewer and the widow of James W. Chapman and Brice Frasure. She was retired from Chipman-Union Manufacturing and was a member of First Baptist Church of Union Point. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. David Key officiating. Survivors include a son, Durell Chapman, Bluffton, S.C.; three stepsons, Eddie C. Frasure and B.F. Frasure, both of Travelers Rest, S.C., and Billy Frasure, Taylor, S.C.; two daughters, Elizabeth Chapman Simons, Elberton, and Mae Chapman House, Carlton; two stepdaughters, Ida Mae Pittman, Travelers Rest, and Joretta Parnell, Marietta, S.C.; a sister, Verma Cook Crane, Greensboro; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild. Callaway Funeral Home, Union Point, is in charge of arrangements. Steven Dickey Winterville Steven Dickey, infant son of Matthew and Cari Morrow Dickey, died Sunday, Aug. 17, 1997. Gladys Parham Athens Gladys Parham, 72, of 120 Fairway Drive died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 1997. A native of Maury City, Tenn., Mrs. Parham was a daughter of the late W.A.J. and Hattie B. Sellers Riddick. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jan Parham. She was a graduate of Murray State University in Murray, Ky., with a degree in music and was the first choral director for the Clarke County School System. She was a homemaker, dear wife and mother. She was a soloist and choir member for 48 years at Prince Avenue Baptist Church, where she was an adult Sunday school teacher for many years and had worked with children in vacation Bible school. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Prince Avenue Baptist Church with the Revs. Bill Ricketts, Miller Huckabee and Bob Nash officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park. Survivors include her husband, Harris Parham; a son, Jeffery Harris Parham, Statham; two daughters, Patsy Parham Overton, Sugar Hill, and Penny Parham Carson, Athens; a sister, Margaret Kraai, Tampa, Fla.; 18 grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. A native of Hart County, Mr. Owens was a son of the late Thomas W. and Nina Cleveland Owens. He was a retired self-employed auto mechanic and a former bus driver for the Hart County School System. He was a member of Milltown Baptist Church, where he was a former deacon, a member of the men's Sunday school class and served on the cemetery and building committee. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today at Milltown Baptist Church with the Revs. Steve Patton, Alton Ray and Luther Kay officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
