She was a retired inspector with Blake-Giles in West Union, S.C., and a member of Corinth Baptist Church. A native of Commerce, Mr. Crocker was a son of Eula Mae Leach Crocker of Commerce and the late Young H. Crocker and the widower of Rebecca Shubert Crocker. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Camden Camille Crocker. A graduate of Commerce High School and the University of Georgia, he was a teacher at Athens Area Technical Institute. He was a member and past vice president of the Northeast Georgia Rose Society. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce. Burial will be in Grey Hill Cemetery, Commerce. Survivors, in addition to his mother, include two sisters, Judy Crocker Hall, Great Falls, Va., and Juanita Osborn, Homer; and two nieces and a nephew. 'Chick' Hodgson Athens Moselle "Chick" Hodgson, 95, died Wednesday, June 18, 1997. Mrs. Hodgson was born on Nov. 30, 1911, and was the daughter of the late Thomas Alexander HODGSONand Moselle Lyndon Burke and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward S. Lyndon and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas A. Burke. She was brought up in Washington, Ga., graduated with honors from Washington High School and attended Wesleyan College. On April 5, 1933, she married Edward Reginald Hodgson III of Athens and moved back to the town of her parents and grandparents. She was one of the first two elected members of the Junior Assembly and served as a treasurer at the time of the 1940 Follies; she was a charter member of the Junior Ladies Garden Club and a sustaining member of the Junior League. She also was a member of the Athens Town Committee of the National Society of Colonial Dames in America, the Magna Carta Dames, Americans of Royal Descent and several other genealogical societies. During World War II, an old friend who was the head of the University of Georgia English Department begged her to fill in for him until he could find a secretary. She had studied shorthand and typing in high school, and knowing how hard it was to find workers during the war, she consented to come on a temporary basis. She and the department, however, found themselves so delighted with each other that she remained there until her retirement, almost 30 years later. She will be remembered by many students during those years. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Oconee Hill Cemetery with Father Mark Haverland of St. Stephens Anglican Church, of which she was a communicant, conducting the rites. Survivors include a son, Thomas Burke Hodgson; a sister, Mrs. Albert Sams Sr.; a granddaughter, Heather Bricklin; two great-granddaughters; a great-grandson; and nieces and nephews. Ola Moore Dahlonega Ola Jane Smith Moore, 96, of 126 W. Main St. died Thursday, June 19, 1997, at her residence. A lifelong resident of Dahlonega, Mrs. Moore was one of two daughters of Thomas J. and Lula S. Smith and the widow of Robert McClure Moore. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Minnie Lu M. Lear of Daytona Beach, Fla. Mrs. Moore was the oldest member of Dahlonega United Methodist Church, having joined in 1913. She was a member of the Missionary Society and attended North Georgia College and LaGrange College. She was a member of the Col. William Chandler Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution for 50 years. Mrs. Moore was a member of the Dahlonega Women's Club, having received the certificate of achievement in recognition of 50 years of outstanding service by the Georgia Federation of Women's Clubs. She was a charter member of the North Georgia College Foundation and established a scholarship fund with the Dahlonega Women's Club along with her late husband. She recently received the North Georgia College Golden Steeple Award for outstanding service to the college.
