A native of Franklin County, Mr. Akin was a son of Fannie Carroll Akin of Carnesville and the late John D. Akin Sr. He was a former employee of Coats and Clark, Toccoa Casket Co. and American Heritage, and a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and Sunday school teacher for the young adult class. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today at Liberty Hill Baptist Church with the Revs. Jeff Connell and Joe Straner officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Barbara Stonecypher Akin; a daughter, Elizabeth Renee Akin, of the home; two sons, Brian Keith Akin, Toccoa, and Jeffrey David Akin, of the home; three sisters, Mary Williams and Patsy Milford, both of Carnesville, and Peggy Addison, Eastanollee; two brothers, S.J. Akin and Charles Akin, both of Carnesville; and a granddaughter. Deacons of Liberty Hill Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family is at the residence and will receive friends 10 a.m.-noon today at Whitlock Mortuary. Memorials may be made to the Church Improvement Fund of Liberty Hill Baptist Church. Anne Dickel Royston Anne Elizabeth Dickel, 92, of 1975 Campbell Ridge Road died Sunday, Dec. 21, 1997. A native of Dumont, N.J., Mrs. Dickel was a daughter of the late Henry T. and Annie B. Day Dickel and the widow of Ralph Francis Finello. She was a retired live-in personal companion for the elderly and a member of Royston United Methodist Church. Private funeral services will be at 4 p.m. today at Pruitte Funeral Home with the Reb. Bobby Anthony officiating. Survivors include a son, John H. Finello, Royston; a sister, Jessie Larson, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; a brother, Albert A. Dickel, Ankeny, Iowa; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Royston First United Methodist Church Van Fund, 137 Franklin Springs St., Royston, Ga. 30662. Bennie Inglett Athens Bennie W. Inglett, 96, of 104 Alpine Way died Sunday, Dec. 21, 1997. A native of Augusta, Mr. Inglett was a son of the late John and Laura Farris Inglett and the widower of Bessie Ann Thompkins Inglett. An Army veteran of World War I, Chief Inglett went to work with the Augusta Water Works Department in the early 1920s before moving to the Augusta Police Department. About 18 months later, he transferred to the Fire Department and in 1947 retired as chief after 25 years of service. He then managed the Maxwell House Apartments in Augusta for several years, and later operated a cattle farm, the Inglett Farm & Cattle Ranch, for 15 years outside Augusta. He then moved to Athens and was a major stockholder and vice president of Richard's Shoes Inc., a cooperation operated by his son Richard. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Evergreen Memorial Park with Dr. Jim Burkett officiating. Survivors include two sons, Charles D. Inglett, Orange Park, Fla., and Richard Inglett, Athens; six grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends 6:30-8:30 p.m. today at Bernstein Funeral Home. Margaret Milner Athens Margaret Milner, 78, of 433 Lanier Gardens died Monday, Dec. 22, 1997. A native of South Carolina, Mrs. Milner was a daughter of the late Floyd and Annie Moody Yarbrough and the widow of Walter Thomas Milner Jr. She was of the Baptist faith. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bernstein Funeral Home with the Rev. Dan Fuller officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park. Survivors include two sons, Floyd Milner, Douglasville, and Walter Charles Milner, Hull; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. David Rice Bethlehem David Rice, 49, died Sunday, Dec. 21, 1997. A native of Walton County, Mr. Rice was a son of Roy and Ruth Rice of Winder. A 1971 graduate of the University of Georgia, he was a Realtor with Century 21 Heritage Realty and a member of First United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Smith Funeral Home, Winder, with John Mobley and the Revs. Larry Rary, Jimmy Greer and John Talley officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his wife, Terry S. Rice; a daughter, Tracy Rice, Bethlehem; two sons, Bo Rice and Trent Rice, both of Bethlehem; a sister, Martha Holcomb, Gainesville; and three brothers, Mike Rice and Keith Rice, both of Winder, and Joe Rice, Crossville, Tenn. Lemon Roebuck Buford Lemon Holman Roebuck, 75, died Sunday, Dec. 21, 1997. A native of Gwinnett County, Mrs. Roebuck was the widow of Bernard Roebuck. She was a retired nurse with the Gwinnett Hospital System and a member of Order of the Eastern Star and Duncan Creek Congregational Christian Church. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Duncan Creek Congregational Christian Church with the Revs. Cedric Banks and Millard Sims officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include a son, Wesley Roebuck, Buford; two sisters, Clemetine "Tiny" McCurdy, Dalton, and Viola "Sis" Cleghorn, Dacula; five brothers, Clyde Holman, Chestley Holman, Ralph Holman and Claud Holman, all of Buford, and Millard Holman, Hartwell; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
