Cole Talmo Woodie Gee Cole, 78, of 8141 U.S. Highway 129 North died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 1997. A native of Jackson County, Mrs. Cole was a daughter of the late W.B. and Mae Smith Gee. She was a homemaker and a member of Pendergrass Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at the church with the Rev. Charles Jenkins officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include her husband, Joe W. Cole, Talmo; a daughter, Linda C. McMullan, Talmo; two sons, Larry Cole, Baldwin, and Don Cole, Stuart, Va.; six sisters, Nelle Culpepper and Sylvia Underwood, both of Talmo, Doris Nabors and Betty Sosebee, both of Jefferson, Ola Alford, Gainesville, and Wilma Dodd, Oakwood; a brother, Herman Gee, Jefferson; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Jackson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Philip E. Dihrberg Athens Philip Eugene Dihrberg, 56, of 7554 Jefferson River Road died Monday, Jan. 20, 1997. A native of Ostego County, N.Y., Mr. Dihrberg was a son of the late Thurlow and Lucile Lane Dihrberg. A retired recreational park manager, he was a member of the Lions Club, National Guard and was of the Pentecostal faith. Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. today at the chapel of Bridges Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Pike officiating. Survivors include his wife, Barbara C. The family will receive friends 1:30-3 p.m. today at the funeral home. Swayne Garrison Commerce Swayne Garrison, 85, of 109 Georgia Ave. died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 1997. A native of Banks County, Mr. Garrison was a son of the late Martin Leverett and Leah Ingram Garrison and the widower of his first wife, Hazel Moss Garrison. He was a retired owner and president of Commerce Tire Co. and a member of First United Methodist Church of Commerce. 'Sandy' Huguley Elberton George Phillip "Sandy" Huguley, 86, formerly of Elberton, died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 1997. A native of Wilkes County, Mr. Huguley was a son of the late George William and Lola Bradford Huguley. He was a retired truck driver for Elbert County. Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. today in Colbert Cemetery with the Rev. Calvin Coile officiating. Survivors include his wife, Lola Mae G. Huguley, Elberton; two sons, William Huguley, Carlton, and Phillip E. Huguley, Elberton; a daughter, Eulene Pless, Toccoa; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Mercer Hartwell Maude Burden Mercer, 85, formerly of 2353 Pulliam Mill Road, Dewy Rose, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 1997. A native of Elbert County, Mrs. Mercer was a daughter of the late George Edmond and Margie Butler Burden and was preceded in death by a son, Rabun Joel Mercer. She was a homemaker and a member of Stinchcomb United Methodist Church where she was the treasurer. A native of Madison County, Mrs. Webb was a daughter of the late Jack W. and Alice James Wood and the widow of Jack D. Webb. She was a textile plant supervisor and of the Baptist faith. Funeral services were Wednesday at Wesley Chapel Church with the Revs. Sherwin Finch and Patrick Tice officiating. Burial will be in the Webb family cemetery, Georgia Highway 15.
