The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Survivors include his wife, Eunice Berry; four daughters, Jannel Harris and Betty Warbington, both of Bethlehem, Marie Hunter, Hoschton, and Dorothy Johnson, Winder; three sons, Willie "Sonny" Berry, Winder, Emory Berry, Lafayette, and Larry James Berry, Monroe; two brothers, Joe Berry, Athens, and Gus Berry, Bryant, N.Y.; 24 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Eberhart & Son Mortuary, Winder, is in charge of arrangements. Mary Chew Crawfordville Mary Gordon Golucke Chew, 86, of 2 Hill Terrace died Monday, July 21, 1997. A native of Taliaferro County, Ms. Chew was a daughter of the late Ralph Wesly Golucke and Mary McCord and the widow of Harry Hayes Chew Jr. She was retired after 50 years as a school teacher and earned her master's degree in education from the University of Georgia. She was a member of Alexander Stephens State Park Division of the Confederate United Daughters of the Confederacy, Chi Omega, Delta Kappa Gamma and Crawfordville Presbyterian Church, where she was an elder and an organist for a number of years. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Crawfordville Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Reggie Haslett officiating. Burial will be in Crawfordville City Cemetery. Survivors include two stepsons, Richard A. Chew, Lawrenceville, and Harry Hayes Chew III, Norcross; a sister, Amelia Golucke Brook, Conyers; two nieces, Mary Rood Bagwell and Amelia Rood Crockett; a nephew, Ralph E. Rood; three stepgrandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be John M. Bagwell II, Charles Golucke Rood Jr., Robert E. Bagwell, Carlyle Rood, Chad Capper and Jack Rood. A native of Madison County, Mrs. Farren was a daughter of the late James M. and Ola Stewart LaCount and the widow of Richard D. Farren Sr. She was a member of Briarlake Baptist Church, Atlanta. He was a retired safety administrator for the Burlington-Northern Railroad, a former Rotarian, past president of the Transportation-Communication International Union and an elder at Friendship Presbyterian Church.
