Barnes Wilmington, N.C. Lowell Everette Barnes, 80, of 2324 41st St. died Saturday, June 21, 1997. A native of Bertie County, N.C., Mr. Barnes was a son of the late James C. and Mary Womble Barnes. He was a retired motel owner and operator and had worked with Atlantic Coastline Railroad for 25 years. He was a member and past president of the Wrightsville Beach Lions Club and a member of Wrightsville United Methodist Church. A native of Arnoldsville, Mr. Butler was a son of the late W. Paul and Clara Little Butler. A veteran of World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War, he was retired from the Army as a warrant officer and from the University of Georgia. He was a Mason and a member of Temple Methodist Church in Oglethorpe County. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Temple Methodist Church with the Rev. George Owen and Dr. Robert McDaniel officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Maria K. Butler; a son, Raymond H. Butler, Arnoldsville; a brother, R.E. Mrs. Mayerbach was a daughter of the late William and Stella Nelson Holder and the widow of Andrew Mayerbach. She was preceded in death by a son, Danny Earl Johnson. She taught the Eliza Graham Sunday School class at Comer Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today at Comer Baptist Church with the Rev. Tom Dunn officiating. Burial will be in Comer City Cemetery. A native of Madison County, Mrs. Spratlin was a daughter of the late C. and Geneva King Dudley and the widow of John Spratlin. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy Morris. She was a member and faithful worker of Joy Baptist Church, a devoted mother, grandmother and homemaker. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today at Joy Baptist Church with the Rev. William Westmoreland Jefferson William Albert Westmoreland, 75, of Institute Street died Saturday, June 21, 1997. A native of Jackson County, Mr. Westmoreland was a son of the late George Washington and Macie Fambrough Westmoreland and was the widower of Claudine Robinson Westmoreland. He was retired from the Jefferson Police Department, where he had served as chief of police for 32 years. A Marine Corps veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Georgia Peace Officers Association and of First United Methodist Church. A native of Franklin County, Mrs. White was a daughter of the late Lindsey "Doc" and Estelle White Barnes and the widow of Isom "Pete" Jordan and Charles S. White. She was preceded in death by two sons, Bobby Gene White and James Howard Jordan, and a grandchild. She was a homemaker and a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church and the Adult Ladies S.C. class.
