Jimmy Howard Anchors, 52, of 733 E. Main St. died Sunday, June 22, 1997. A native of Athens, Mr. Anchors was a son of the late John David and Elizabeth Millar Anchors. He was employed by Phillips Fibers and Amoco Fibers. Funeral services will be at noon Thursday at Brown-Oglesby Funeral Home with the Rev. Tommy Wade officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens, Clemson, S.C. Survivors include two daughters, Karen Anchors and Rhonda "Missy" Hartman, both of Seneca; two sisters, Dorothy Huff and Peggy Ward, both of Athens; a brother, Al Anchors, Corpus Christi, Texas; and two grandchildren. The family is at the home of Missy Hartman, 411 S. Townville St., and will receive friends 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Eddie Niles Jefferson Eddie James Niles, 60, of 72 Martin Luther King Drive died Sunday, June 22, 1997. Mr. Niles was a son of the late Lonzo Niles and Beatrice Daniel Shields and the widower of Bessie Smith. He had worked in the poultry industry. Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. today at Young's Funeral Home, Gainesville, with the Rev. C.J. Rakestraw officiating. Burial will be in New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors include a daughter, Cathy Frierson, Battle Creek, Mich.; two sons, Calvin Cotton Sr. and Gary Taylor, both of Battle Creek; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Kytle Oliver Toccoa Kytle Jones Oliver, 84, of 125 Poplar St. died Tuesday, June 24, 1997. A native of Franklin County, Mr. Oliver was a son of the late Robert L. and Leila Addison Oliver. He served 23 years as Stephens County Probate judge and had served on the staff of several Georgia governors. A Navy veteran of World War II, he was a member of First United Methodist Church, Toccoa Masonic Lodge 309, Yarab Shrine Temple and Toccoa Shrine Club, and a charter member of Toccoa Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4346. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Revs. Claude Smithmier and Jack Lamb officiating. Burial will be in Stephens Memorial Gardens. Survivors include his wife, Gladys Davis Oliver; a daughter, Judy Sheriff, Toccoa; a son, Kenneth Oliver, Decatur; a sister, Josie Faye Cheek, Toccoa; a brother, Luther Oliver, Toccoa; and two grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Don Oliver, Bethel Crunkleton, Aubre Grafton, Bob Service, Joe Lee and Robert Smith. Clayton White Sr. Elberton Clayton Lee White Sr. of 1814 Jones Ferry Road died Sunday, June 22, 1997. Mr. White was a son of Sylvia Raiford White of Elberton and the late Mannie Lee White. He was a retired granite ledgeman and a member of Springfield Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. today at Springfield Baptist Church with the Revs. John Gartrell and Samuel Grimes officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at noon. Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Jeannie Brawner White; six daughters, Tekelia Cannon, Jeanie L. Zaic, 77, of 265 Camak Drive died Sunday, June 22, 1997. A native of Hibbing, Minn., Mr. Zaic was a son of the late Joseph and Sula Tumley Zaic. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a civil service employee at the Pentagon for 33 years until his retirement in 1972. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Chaloux officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park. Survivors include a friend, Grace Toney, Athens; a son, Francis Dennis Zaic, St. Petersburg, Fla.; two sisters, Julia Znidar, Hibbing, and Frances Lamosse, Minneapolis; two brothers, John Zaic, Silver Springs, Md., and Edward Zaic, Seattle; a grandson; and nieces and nephews.
