Coleman Athens James W. Coleman, 72, died Thursday, Oct. 23, 1997. A native of Spartanburg, S.C., Mr. Coleman was a son of the late Lonnie and Nancy Slaton Coleman. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Meadows Funeral Home, with the Rev. Billy Autry officiating. Burial will be in Hill Haven Cemetery, Monroe. Survivors include his wife, Frances Coleman; five daughters, Toni Wood, Rochell, Shelia Tromtler, Tulsa, Okla., Sandra Hughes, Spring, Texas, Cathy Fulfard, Macon and Connie Cantrell, McCaysville; a son, Harold Garner; and 12 grandchildren. A native of Walton County, Mr. Griffeth was a son of the late Guy and Zora Henry Griffeth. A Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict, he was an electrician and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union and Bethlehem First United Methodist Church. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. today at Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. Kelly Brisendine officiating. Survivors include three daughters, Donna Still, Jerry Maddox and Lisa Mitcheltree, all of Winder; a son, Marty Griffeth, New York; a sister, Maxine Brown, Winder; a brother, Doyle Griffeth, Winder; and six grandchildren. Latoysa Jackson Athens Latoysa Kelly Jackson, 20, of 452 N. Bluff Road, died Sunday, Oct. 19, 1997. A native of Clarke County, Mrs. Jackson was a daughter of Ruby and Michael Kelly of Bogart. She attended Clarke Central High School and was employed at Chonell's Restaurant. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. today at the Oconee County Civic Center, Watkinsville, with Brother Clarence Clarke Sr. officiating; services originally were scheduled for 2 p.m. at Clarke Central High School's Mell Auditorium. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. The body will be placed in the auditorium at 1:30 p.m. Survivors, in addition to her parents, include a sister, Mashonda Bugg, Athens; three brothers, Keith Kelly, Athens, and Kenneth Kelly and Micah Tyrone Kelly, both of Bogart; a grandmother, Ruby Gresham, Stephens; and aunts and uncles. A native of Barrow County, Mr. Landers was a son of the late Florine Collins and Lagran Landers Sr. A Navy veteran of World War II, he was a butcher and market manager at A&P Grocery Store and Big Apple Grocery Store, and was owner and operator of Landers & Wilkes Supermart. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Norman Waldrip officiating. A native of Franklin County, Mrs. Purcell was a daughter of the late Leah Adams and Goss Power and the widow of Curtis Durell Purcell. She was a homemaker and a member of Mount Bethel United Methodist Church. Ruzell Sell Jefferson Ruzell Phillips Sell, 83, of Route 1, died Thursday, Oct. 23, 1997. A native of Jackson County, Mrs. Sell was a daughter of the late Fannie and James Homer Phillips and the widow of Howard Sell. She was a homemaker and a member of Antioch Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Jackson Funeral Home with the Rev. Gerald Mitton officiating. Burial will be in White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery.
