A native of Jackson County, Mrs. Attaway was the widow of Herman Attaway. She was preceded in death by two sons, Myron Attaway and Glenn Attaway. She was a shirt presser at Carwood Manufacturing and a member of Bethabra Baptist Church, Winder. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Tim Stewart Funeral Home, Lawrenceville, with the Revs. Robert Peevy, David Singleton and Bobby Brown officiating. Burial will be in Bethabra Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors include two daughters, Lavertus Williams Stephenson, Atlanta, and Dorothy Justice, Buford; a brother, Ralph "Hoot" Fleeman, Winder; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Willie Mae Elrod Pendergrass Willie Mae Elrod, 80, of 111 Beck Road died Monday, Aug. 25, 1997. A native of Hall County, Mrs. Elrod was a daughter of the late Sara Smith and David Paul Underwood and the widow of Andrew Elrod. She was retired as a cook at Katherine's Kitchen and was a member of Pendergrass Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Pendergrass Baptist Church with the Revs. Charles Jenkins, Vince Mercardante and Truman Skaggs officiating. Burial will be in Center Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 2:30 p.m. Survivors include four sisters, Roberta Love and Annie Laura Elrod, both of Pendergrass, Lucinda Sorrells, Commerce, and Sara Nell Bruce, Talmo; three brothers, Relford "Wolley" Underwood and Henry Underwood, both of Pendergrass, and J.A. Cherokee Road, formerly of Elberton, died Monday, Aug. 25, 1997. A native of Elbert County, Mr. Fortson was a son of the late Henry Clay and Floyce Maxwell Fortson. An Army veteran of World War II, he was retired from the granite industry and was a Mason and a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bethlehem United Methodist Church with the Revs. Jim Spooner and John Heckman officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park. Hoit, 76, died Sunday, Aug. 24, 1997. Mr. Hoit was a retired production controller in the Army Missile Command. He was a member of Livingston First Baptist Church, Ionic Masonic Lodge 41, Livingston Lions Club and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. He was a tree farmer and active in community affairs. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Christian Valley Baptist Church, Coatopa, Ala., with Dr. Rick Gosnell officiating. Donnell Johnekins Conyers Donnell Johnekins, 12, died Thursday, Aug. 21, 1997. A native of Miami, Donnell was a son of William and Juanita Johnekins of Miami. A native of Madison County, Mrs. Johnson was a daughter of the late Claude D. and Lona Oldham Tolbert. She was a homemaker and a member of Hull Baptist Church, where she was active in the Women's Missionary Society. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Hull Baptist Church with the Rev. An Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War, he was retired from the U.S. Forestry Service. He was a member of the Mason Union Lodge 334, the Lions Club, the YAARAB Temple AAONMS of Atlanta, the Scottish Rite Association Lodge Council Chapter Consistory and St. Stephens Episcopal Church.
