A native of Carnesville, Mrs. Adair was a daughter of the late Robert Leland and Elizabeth Ayers Little and the widow of Paul Sullivan Adair. She received her master's and 6th year degrees at the University of Georgia, and taught in the school systems of Madison, Hart and Franklin counties, was the visiting teacher for Franklin County Schools for 17 years and was instrumental in the implementation of the Head Start and special education programs in Franklin County. She was a member of Eastern Star, Daughters of the American Revolution, Franklin County Historical Society, ADK Sorority, the Carnesville Womans Club and a longtime memorial chairman of the Cancer Society of Franklin County. She was a member, an elder and clerk of the session of Carnesville Presbyterian Church, where she was active locally and in the Presbytery. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Carnesville Presbyterian Church with the Revs. Kirk Nesbit and Tom Cook officiating. Burial will be in Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m. Survivors include a sister, Martha Little, Carnesville; and nieces and nephews. The family is at the residence and will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Ginn Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Carnesville Presbyterian Church or a favorite charity. Lucie Adams Monticello Lucie Witte Benton Adams, 85, died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 1997. A native of Jasper County, Mrs. Adams was a daughter of the late Taney Oliver and Lucie Comer Witte Benton and the widow of James Monroe Adams. She was a retired bookkeeper for the John H. Harland Co. and was a member of Monticello First United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Monticello First UMC. Burial will be in West View Cemetery. Survivors include two sisters, Hazel Benton, Monticello, and Sallye Newsome, Athens; a brother, Louis W. Benton Sr., Monticello; and five nieces and nephews, Louis W. Benton Jr., Phyllis Newsome Field, Taney O. Benton III, Mary Lucie Benton Cruce and Holly Benton Reynolds. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Jordan Funeral Home. Ruby Basham High Shoals Ruby Basham, 85, of New High Shoals Road died Monday, Nov. 24, 1997. A native of Walton County, Mrs. Basham was the widow of Cecil L. Basham. She was a homemaker. Casper Winder Agnes H. Casper, 86, died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 1997. A native of Jackson County, Mrs. Casper was a daughter of the late Bev and Cleta H. Henry and the widow of Otis Casper. She was retired from Hosenbeck Lunchroom after 19 years and was a member of Chapel Christian Church. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. Gene Van De Mark Hartwell Benjamin Eugene "Gene" Van De Mark, 73, of 200 Cedar Creek Circle died Monday, Nov. 24, 1997. A native of Brooktondale, N.Y., Mr. Van De Mark was a son of the late Benjamin Horace and Gertrude O'Dell Van De Mark. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a retired realtor and a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was of the Methodist faith. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Joseph A. A native of Murray County, Mrs. Smith was a daughter of the late Jessie F. and Margaret Bigham Collins and the widow of Comer Parr and Richard Parr. She was preceded in death by two sons, Harrison Parr and Jack Parr. She was a nursing assistant. A native of Hart County, Mrs. Worley was a daughter of the late William Noah and Tempia Ann Missouri Ford Prather and the widow of Miles Worley. She was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She was treasurer of Woodmen of the World Lavonia Lodge 150 and was jurisdictional officer and national representative of Woodmen of the World. She received an award for Fraternalist of the Year in the State of Georgia in 1994 for Woodmen of the World. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Pruitte Funeral Home, Royston, with the Rev. Bill Owensby officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
