A native of Rowan County, N.C., Mr. Barger was a son of the late Henry Lee Barger and Ellen Bassinger Barger and the widower of Ruth Wiley Barger. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Elberton and was a retired granite quarry foreman. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Elberton Holy Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Barbara Engelbrecht officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Faith Lutheran Church Cemetery in Faith, N.C., with Pastor Alfred Rhyne officiating. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Ellen Atkinson, Elberton; a son, Charles V. Barger, Elberton; a sister, Eva Moose, Faith, N.C.; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Roger Bennett Royston Roger William Bennett, 48, of 41 Brooks St. died Friday, July 25, 1997. A native of Stephens County, Mr. Bennett was a son of Charles W. Bennett and Geneva Williams Bennett of Royston. He was owner and operator of Bennett's Aviation and Georgia Mobile Radio-Sales of Royston. He was a member of Royston Masonic Lodge #52, a shriner, and a member of the Royston-Franklin Springs Rotary Club. He was a member of the Royston Volunteer Fire Department, vice chairman of Century South Bank, a member of South Eastern Communications Association and Georgia Communications Association, a former member of Royston City Council and a member of Royston United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Royston United Methodist Church with the Revs. Bobby Anthony and Danny Barton officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Brooks of Monroe. he was a graduate of the University of Georgia School of Law and had practiced law in Athens for 17 years. He also had served as a deacon for Athens First Christian Church. A native of Lancaster, S.C., Mr. Carnes was a graduate of Wofford College and the Medical University of South Carolina. He was a World War II Veteran, having served as an Army medic. Survivors include his wife, Nell Dunaway Carnes; a daughter, Kay Carnes, Athens; a step-daughter, Judy R. Pennington, Vicksburg, Miss.; a sister, Marion C. Perry, Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and two step-grandchildren. Ida Duncan Auburn Ida Hall Rooks Duncan, 95, died Friday, July 25, 1997. A native of Gwinnett County, Mrs. Duncan was a daughter of the late William Frank and Tiny Beddingfield Hall and the widow of Henry Brantley Duncan. She was a seamstress and a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church of Dacula. William Finlay Baldwin William Campbell Finlay, 94, died Saturday, July 26, 1997. A native of Pike County, Ala., Mr. Finlay was a son of the late James Newton and Eudora Bates Finlay. He was a graduate of the University of Alabama, a charter member of Southside United Methodist Church in Jacksonville, Fla., and a Sunday school teacher. He was a Mason, a shriner and a retired hotel auditor. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Southside United Methodist Church with Dr. Wayne D. Wiatt and Dr. Monroe C.
