A lifelong resident of Oconee County, Mr. Baker was a son of the late Fred and Gladys Ree Whitehead Baker. He was a retired farmer. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, West, in Bogart with the Rev. Bruce Simpson officiating. Burial will be in Statham Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Eugenia Baker; a son, Jimmy Baker, Hull; three sisters, Sara Nix, Jefferson, Jewell Lee Gunter, Bogart, and Louise McDaniel, Statham; four brothers, Leonard Baker, Athens, and Ed Baker, Walter Baker and Johnny Baker, all of Statham; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and 20 nieces and nephews. Leora Lambert Bogart Leora Lambert, 71, of 2190 Clotfelter Road died Monday, Nov. 24, 1997. A native of Oglethorpe County, Mrs. Lambert was a daughter of the late Lucye Carter and Rudolph T. Tucker Sr. She was retired from Benson's Bakery and was a member of Mount Pleasant Methodist Church. Graveside services were Wednesday in Evergreen Memorial Park with the Revs. Ralph Mabry and Elmer Butler officiating. Survivors include her husband, Clyde Lambert, Bogart; two daughters, Joyce E. Lambert, Bogart, and Karla A. Hulsey, Athens; a son, C.W. "Buddy" Lambert Jr., Odenton, Md.; two sisters, Florence Smith, Arnoldsville, and Vivian Long, Aurora, Colo.; two brothers, Eugene Tucker, Winterville, and Leonard Tucker, Columbus; five grandchildren, a great-grandchild; and nieces and nephews. A native of Oglethorpe County, Mr. Mathews was a son of the late Eugene Wooten and Myrtle Paul Mathews and the widow of Kimiko Shimabuku. He was retired from the Marine Corps and was self-employed. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Vesta Baptist Church with the Rev. Russell Bruce officiating. Burial will be in Burt's United Methodist Church Cemetery. Survivors include a daughter, Kimberly M. Neilson, 74, died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 1997. A native of Johnstown, Pa., Mr. Neilson was a Navy veteran of World War II and retired as director of Lockheed's C-5 B Program after 23 years of service. He was a past master of Sandy Springs Masonic Lodge and a member of Mount Bethel United Methodist Church. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Cheatham Hill Memorial Park with Dr. Randy Mickler officiating, followed by a Masonic service. Survivors include his wife, Marguerite J.
