A native of Oconee County, Mr. Brown was a son of the late J.T. and Mary Brown. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Hurly Funeral Home, with the Rev. W.R. Flint officiating. Burial will be in Brown Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Laverne Brown; three daughters, Deanna Brown, Tabitha Brown and Connie Brown; four sisters, Alcie Wade, Betty Foster, Annie Harris and Sharon Goddard; and two grandchildren. Caudell, 76, of 125 Stonehedge Drive, formally of Banks and Franklin Counties, died Friday, December 26, 1997. A native of Banks County, Mr. Caudell was the a son of the late Powell Garland and Gladys Bell Caudell. He was retired from Lockheed Corp. and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Damascus Baptist Church in Banks County. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Hamby-Weldon Funeral Home, with the Rev. Donald Holbrook officiating. Burial will be in Franklin Memorial Gardens, North. Mr. Clark was a son of the late Otis C. and Martha Jane Clark. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at New Pentecost United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Mike McLemore officiating. Survivors include his wife, Sue D. Clark; two daughters, Susan Rowland, Homer, and Carol Clark, Winder; one brother, William Clark, Winder; and three grandchildren. James Walter Cooper Athens James Walter Cooper, 80, of 206 Elder Road died Saturday, December 27, 1997. A native of Oconee County, Mr. Cooper was a son of the late Doyle Hubert Cooper and Annie Bell Evans. He was a member and a deacon of Friendship Christian Church and owned and operated Suburban Cleaners for 20 years. He was a graduate of Bogart High School. He was also a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and received the American Defense Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with two bronze stars. He also served as Vice Commander of American Legion Post 185 and was a member of Athens Elks Lodge #790. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Friendship Christian Church, with the Rev. Jim Caton officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park. Survivors include his wife, Sue D. Hardigree, 49, of Las Vegas, Nevada died Tuesday, December 16, 1997. A native of Winder, Dr. Hardigree was the son of Donald R. Hardigree of Winder and the late Doris Fincher Hardigree. He received a his BBA, MBA, and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Georgia and taught for seven and a half years as a tenured associate professor and Nevada Insurance Education Foundation Chair of Insurance at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He was UNLV's Director for the Institute for Insurance and Risk Management and was a member of several educational affiliations. He was also an active contributing member of American, Southern and Western Risk and Insurance Associations. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, 1998, at Chapel Christian Church in Winder. Emma Mae Mann Harris Royston Emma Mae Mann Harris, 96, of Bowman died Saturday, December 27, 1997. A native of Elbert County, Mrs. Harris was the daughter of the late Thomas Lumpkin and Ora Moore Mann. She was a homemaker and a member of Bowman Baptist Church where she was active for many years in the Women's Ministry Society. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at the Hall Funeral Home, with the Revs. John Forbes and James Creeson officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Bowman. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Edwin and Margaret Harris, Holly Hill, S.C.; a daughter and son-in-law, Dorris Stafford and Doyle Hayes, Dalton; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Hoyt, 80, of Doraville died Saturday, December 27, 1997. A native of Ft. Ann, N.Y., Mr. Hoyt was a son of the late Lawrence William and Zoa Leone Smith Hoyt. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia and a member of the Truthville Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School superintendent. He was a U.S. Army Medical Corps veteran of World War II and a retired accountant with 60 years of service. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Monday at the Whitfield Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. Fred Cox, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the Jackson Family Cemetery in Banks County. A native of Franklin County, Mr. Vaughn was a son of the late Samuel Walter and Lula Williams Vaughn. He preceded in death by a daughter, Glenda Coker, by a sister, Icie Belle Hendrix, and by five brothers, George Vaughn, Joe Vaughn, Ted Vaughn, Paul Vaughn and Frank Vaughn. He was retired from Newton Mills as a supply clerk and was a former sheriff's deputy. He was also a member of the Cross Roads Baptist Church.
