A native of Bibb County, Mrs. Brown was a daughter of the late Carl and Ethel Virginia Crosby Prince and the widow of James Robert Brown. She was a retired grocery store cashier and was of the Baptist faith. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Jackson Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Marshal Smith officiating. Survivors include a sister, Peggy Lord, Commerce; and two brothers, Gene Prince, Augusta, and J.C. Prince, Macon. Little-Ward Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Hugh T. Cross Sr. Winder Hugh T. Cross Sr., 72, died Sunday, Oct. 26, 1997. A native of Dooley County, Mr. Cross was a tractor operator in the construction industry. He attended Church of Jesus Christ in Winder and was an Army veteran of World War II. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Tom M. Wages Funeral Service Inc.'s Snellville Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Allen officiating. Burial will be in Eternal Hills Memory Gardens. Survivors include his wife, Sarah J. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. James Evans Tucker James Evans, 76, of 2505 Pinelake Place died Sunday, Oct. 26, 1997. A native of Madison County, Mr. Evans was a son of the late George Roy and Lillie Mae Smith Evans. He was of the Baptist faith. Arthur Hayes Washington Arthur Lee Hayes, 67, of 522 Norman St., died Friday, Oct. 24, 1997. A native of Wilkes County, Mr. Hayes was a retired gardener and a member of New Hope Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. A native of Allegany County, N.Y., Mr. Markham was a son of the late E.A. and Rena R. Markham. He was a retired employee with the Syracuse, N.Y., school system where he worked in the maintenance department. A memorial service has been held. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Markham; three daughters, Ann Laws, Donna Hoke and Diane Sutton, all of New York; two sons, Richard Markham, Auburn, and Douglas Williams, Chattanooga, Tenn.; a stepdaughter, Jean Evans, Auburn; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A native of Barrow County, Mrs. Pass was a daughter of the late Sam and Flora P. Brown and the widow of John Warren Pass. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and vice president and former president of Women's Auxiliary. She worked as a hospital volunteer for 15 years, worked 14 years with Piedmont Library and was a retired office manager at the Barrow County Tax Office. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. John Talley officiating. Burial will be in Barrow Memorial Gardens. Survivors include a daughter, Ann Gregory, Hampton, Va.; a son, Doug Pass, Nova Scotia, Canada; a brother, Crawford Brown, Alexandria, La.; and four grandchildren. A native of Hart County, Mrs. Reed was a daughter of the late Wofford and Mertice Vickery Dickerson. She was a homemaker and retired from Gip's Manufacturing, where she was an inspector. She was co-owner and operator of Thurmond Furniture Co. and was a member of Madison Baptist Church. She was past president of United Daughters of the Confederacy, Madison Magnolia Garden Club and Madison Baptist Church Sunday school class, a teacher and member of W.M.U., past head of Eastern Star as worthy matron and a member of Daughters of the American Revolution. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today at Madison Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Ross officiating. Burial will be in Greshamville Cemetery.
