A native of Danielsville, Mrs. Bolton was a daughter of the late Will and Elvera Chandler Nash and the widow of Joe Bolton. She was a homemaker and a member of Union Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ivie Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Manus officiating. Burial will be in Grey Hill Cemetery. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mabel Adams Cawthorn Royston Mabel Adams Cawthorn, 96, died Saturday, Dec. 27. A native of Elbert County, she was a daughter of the late Jeff and Julia Shaw Adams. She was a well-known banjo and fiddle player and was of the Pentecostal faith. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today at Hall Funeral Home with the Rev. James Gunn officiating. Internment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Survivors include a sister, Bessie Ruth Fowler, Royston, several nieces and nephews, and grand nieces and nephews. The family is at the home of her niece, Sylvia Jordan, 168 Old Elberton Road, Royston. Deward "Red" Clark Winder Deward "Red" Clark, 64, died Saturday, Dec. 27. A native of Barrow County, Mr. Clark was the son of the late Otis C. and Martha Jane Clark. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was retired from the Department of Defense where he was a facility policeman for the National Guard. He was a member of New Pentecost United Methodist Church. Funeral services were held Sunday at New Pentecost United Methodist Church with the Revs. Mike McLemore and Brad Williams officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. A native of Athens, Miss Slaughter was a daughter of the late Dr. Nathanial G. and Manie Fain Slaughter Sr. She was a member of the Laura Rutherford Chapter #88 of the United Daughters of the Confederacy (UDC). Her grandfather, 1st Lt. William Isaac Fain, was recognized in the 1971 recording of the UDC. During World War II Miss Slaughter worked for the U.S. Civil Service Commission at Warner Robins Air Force Base. She was a supporter of fund raising efforts of the auxiliaries of the American Cancer Society, St. Mary's Hospital and Athens Regional Medical Center, and was member of First United Methodist Church .
