A native of Redmon, Ill., Mrs. Arnold was a daughter of the late Elbert Eugene and Velva Cartwright Quillen and the widow of Melvin Andrew Arnold. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at Whitlock Mortuary with David Prevatt and Aubrey Prestridge officiating. Burial will be in Roselane Cemetery. Survivors include a daughter, Bonnie Seeley Mayes, Bellechase, La.; five sons, Larry Seeley, Bradley Seeley and Melvin Arnold, all of Eastanollee, and Merlyn Seeley and John Luther Arnold, both of Bellechase, La.; 24 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren. A native of Habersham County, Mr. Batson was a son of the late Leonard Cleveland and Martha Alice Foster Batson. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and Cornelia Masonic Lodge 92 and F&AM. Prior to his retirement, he was owner of Lane Food Store for 30 years. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Whitfield Funeral Home with the Revs. Tom Mewborn and Donald Grizzle officiating. A native of Stewart County, Tenn., Mrs. Dean was a daughter of the late Robert Lee and Willie Mae Thomas Sills and the widow of Benjamin Robert Dean. She was a school teacher at Avalon and later was interim Avalon Postmaster. She was a member and steward of Confidence United Methodist Church, past president of Womens Home Demonstration and a member of the Friendship Club. Ruth C. Good Toccoa Ruth Collins Good, 81, of 454 Orlando Drive died Monday, Oct. 27, 1997. A native of Homestead, Penn., Mrs. Good was the widow of Dr. William H. Good. She was a registered nurse and had worked at the Toccoa Clinic and later retired from the Stephens County Health Department. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, where she was a member of WOC, and a former member and president of Toccoa Women's Club and Toccoa Pilot Club. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Jarrett Ragan officiating. Burial will be in Stephens Memorial Gardens. Huff, 80, of 1010 Highland Ave. died Monday, Oct. 27, 1997. A native of Madison County, Mr. Huff was a son of the late Mary Ettie Ray and Carris E. Huff. An Army Air Force veteran, he taught airplane mechanics for 41 months during World War II. He taught agriculture for 23 years, served as county school superintendent for 12 years and Title I coordinator for 6 years, and controlled the high school basketball clock for 47 years.
