A native of Franklin County, Mrs. Campbell was a daughter of the late Guy and Bertsie Crowe Tucker. She was a retired school teacher, having taught in the Royston and Lavonia areas for 30 years. She was a former President of the Music Club, Royston, and a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Lawrenceville. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church, Royston, with Dr. Lamar Holley and the Revs. Jake Reid and Danny Barton officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Royston. Survivors include a brother, Hubert E. Tucker, Lawrenceville, and nephews and great-nieces. Memorials may be made to the Renovation Fund, First Baptist Church, Lawrenceville. The family will receive friends at the church 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. today. Tim Stewart Funeral Home, Lawrenceville, is in charge of arrangements. Erbin Garmon Bowman Erbin Garmon, 72, of 129 N. Broad St. NW, died Saturday, Sept. 27, 1997. A native of Fulton County, Mr. Garmon was a son of the late William and Clemmie Long Garmon. He was a retired auto parts salesman and a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a member of the Duluth Masonic Lodge and Bowman United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Pruitte Funeral Home with the Rev. Gail Seibert officiating. Burial will be in Hill Crest Cemetery, Bowman. Survivors include his wife, Sarah Cook Garmon; a daughter, Jennifer Read, Athens; two sons, William Darryl Garmon, Hoschton, and Jeffrey E. Garmon, Arnoldsville; two sisters, Pauline Bradford, Suwanee, and Bessie Brewer, Duluth; three brothers, J.T. The family is at the residence. Sybil Saxon Hartwell Sybil Greenway Saxon, 85, of W. Franklin Place, died Sunday, Sept. 28, 1997. A native of Elbert County, Mrs. Saxon was a daughter of the late Barney and Sallie Mae Charping Greenway and widow of Mack Saxon. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth Ann "Libby" Bailey and a son, Alvin Saxon. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Rock Branch Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Wayne Durden officiating. Survivors include a son, W.O. Harry Spratlin Athens Harry Leonard Spratlin, 79, of 225 Harve Mathis Road, died Saturday, Sept. 27, 1997. A native of Madison County, he was a son of Hattie Davis Spratlin of Athens and the late Walter J. Spratlin. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was retired from the University of Georgia. He was a member of Hull Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hull Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Crowe officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife, Elsie Smith Spratlin; a son, Travis Spratlin, Knoxville; three sisters, Viola Dillard and Florence Hardy, both of Athens, and Florrie Hughes, Birmingham; and several nieces and nephews. Gerald Stanfield Lavonia Gerald Wright "Jerry" Stanfield, 48, of 35 P.J.'s Inlett, died Saturday, Sept. 27, 1997. A native of Jacksonville, Fla., Mr. Stanfield was a son of Eva Myrle Slaughter, Doraville. He was in law enforcement for 27 years, serving in DeKalb, Franklin, and Stephens Counties. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and Marine Recon Special Forces, with two terms in Vietnam. He was a member of the V.F.W. Lavonia Post and the F.O.P. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Whitlock Mortuary with Chaplin Dan Merck officiating. Burial will be in Stephens Memorial Gardens with full military rites. Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Peggy Jo Soares Stanfield; a daughter, Traci Phillips, Lavonia; two sons, Shane Stanfield and Colby Stanfield, both of Lawrenceville; a brother, Edward Stanfield, Alpharetta; and two grandchildren. The family is at the residence and receive friends 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. A.Y. Woods Jr. Athens A.Y. Woods Jr., 130 Hull Road, died Saturday, Sept. 27, 1997. A native of Clarke County, Mr. Woods was a son of the late A.Y. and Ruth Iverson Woods and widower of Elizabeth Warren Woods. He attended the University of Georgia, where he was active in the Red Coat Band and the UGA Red Devil Jazz Band. He then served with the Athens Preflight Naval Supply School. Mr. Woods owned and operated a family grocery store for 14 years and later retired from Armstrong and Dobbs after working in sales and customer relations for 25 years. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Athens. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Woods' Family Cemetery, with Dr. Joe Berry officiating. Survivors include two sons, A.Y. "Buddy" Woods III and David Warren Woods Sr., both of Athens; a sister, Helen Norton, Athens; and four grandchildren. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Athens.
