Josephine Bannister Hartwell Josephine Whitfield Bannister, 63, formerly of West Franklin Place, died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 1997. A native of Hart County, Mrs. Bannister was a daughter of the late Carlton and Lillie Mae Eaves Whitfield and the widow of Garrett J. Bannister. Susie Mae Foy Athens Susie Mae Foy, 93, of 105 Jane Circle died Sunday, Oct. 26, 1997. A native of Clarke County, Mrs. Foy was a daughter of the late Ernest and Maggie Durham Adkins. She attended Morris Brown College in Atlanta and lived in New York for almost 60 years, returning to Athens three years ago. Mr. Martin was a son of Gladys Mesengale Williamson and the late George Martin. He had lived in Athens for the past eight years and was retired from the cellular biology department at the University of Georgia and Niagra Community College in Sanborn, N.Y. He was active in civic groups in the Niagra Falls area and in Athens, and was committed to many environmental concerns and the care and protection of the Athens Community. He was an active member of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Athens, serving as president in 1993-94. Memorial services will be at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Vhurch with the Revs. George Tolleson and Terre Balof officiating. Burial will be in Smokey Mountain National Park. T.M. Oliver. She was retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was a member of Goldmine Pentecostal Holiness Church. She served as church pianist and organist at several churches. T.A. Wood Liberty, Mo. T.A. Wood, 79, died Monday, Oct. 27, 1997. A native of Barrow County, Mr. Wood was a son of the late Thomas A. and Clara Wood and the widower of Ethel "Billie" Wood.
