Jackson Brooks, 88, of 1224 Atkinson Bridge Road died Sunday, Feb. 1, 1998. A native of Madison County, he was a son of the late Joseph and Kizzie Overcash Brooks and the widower of Blanche Lee Brooks. He was preceded in death by two sons, G.W. Brooks and Raymond Brooks. He was a retired farmer and attended Canon Church of God. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Pruitte Funeral Home, Royston, with the Rev. Leon Suttles officiating. Burial will be in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors include four daughters, Nell Savage, Lottie Hunter and Callie Stowe, all of Canon, and Elsie Hill, Anderson, S.C.; two sons, C.A. Brooks, Jonesboro, and Thomas Brooks, Canon; a sister, Sara Roach, Canon; a brother, Caleb Brooks, Lavonia; and 24 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Johnny Savage, Danny Hunter, Mike Brooks, Glenn Brooks, Greg Stowe and James Roy Hill. The body is at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today. The family is at the residence. J.B. DeLoach Jr. Eatonton J.B. DeLoach Jr., 81, of 160 DeJarnette Road died Saturday, Jan. 31, 1998. A native of Putnam County, he was a son of the late Joseph Barnes DeLoach Sr. and Susie Reid Gregory. He was a lifelong resident of Putnam County and was a graduate of Eatonton High School. Mr. DeLoach owned and operated a dairy farm and was a member of Eatonton Masonic Lodge Rising Star #4. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. today at Eatonton Presbyterian Church with the Revs. Dr. Ford G'Segner and C. Gregory DeLoach officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Mayme DeLoach; a daughter, Susie DeLoach G'Segner, Rockville Community; a son, Joe DeLoach III, Eatonton; two sisters, Ruby Mae Dearman, Rockville Community, and Gladys Lenox, Douglasville; and five grandchildren. She was a daughter of Mable McCord of Watkinsville, and the late James M. McCord. She was a secretary for the Sylvania School System at Southview High School for 18 years. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Reeb Funeral Home, Sylvania. Burial will be in Toledo Memorial Park, Sylvania. In addition to her mother, survivors include her husband, Peter C. Everette Hunter Crawfordville Everette Franklin (Rady) Hunter, 72, of 142 West Road died Saturday, Jan. 31, 1998. A native of Taliaferro county, he was a son of the late William David Hunter and Eva Edwards Hunter. He lived most of his life in the Tyrone Community. Mr. Hunter was a retired architect, specializing in the restoration of old houses. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict, and was a member of Phillips Mill Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. today at Phillips Mill Baptist Church with the Revs. Don Mulkey, John M. King and Tom Stillwell officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A native of Little Rock, Ark., she was a daughter of the late Herman Wesley and Gladys Marie Judd McAllester and the widow of Ralph Ivester. She spent the greater part of her life in Alexandria, Va., and had lived in Toccoa since 1993. She was a member of the Toccoa Church of God and the Ladies Sunday School class. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Toccoa Church of God with the Rev. Harlon Noles officiating. Burial will be in Stephens Memorial Gardens.
