A native of Stephens County, Ms. Stowe was a daughter of the late Gibbs Stowe and Alice Mills Stowe. She was a homemaker and a member of Eastanollee Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Eastanollee Baptist church. The Rev. Richard Ivester and Clarence Davis will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include a sister, Evelyn Stowe Husley, Smyrna; a brother, Joe Frank Stowe, Toccoa; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Clarence Stowe, Douglas Stowe, Jimmy Stowe, Alvin Plews, Joe Nichols and Dan Addison. The family will be at their respective homes. Cleo Benton Athens Mrs. Cleo Franklin Benton, 93, of 2470 Airport Road, died Jan. 1, 1998. A native of Habersham County, she was the daughter of the late Wesley M. and Martha Bell Nix Franklin, and the widow of Guy Olin Benton. She was preceded in death by a son, Horace Olin Benton. She was a homemaker and was a charter member of Central Baptist Church. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 1998, at Evergreen Memorial Park. The Rev. Hugh Eberhart will officiate. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. T.G. (Aubrey) Strickland, Athens; five grandchildren, Sandra S. Hansford, Athens, Debbie S. Erwin, Watkinsville, Judy B. Lord and Stephens Funeral Home, East is in charge of arrangements. Harold C. Pritchett Sr. Athens Harold C. Pritchett Sr., 87, of Athens, died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 1997. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Carmel Cemetery, Mansfield. Survivors include two sons, Harold C. Pritchett Jr., Athens and James C. Shamben Bhakta Athens Shamben Bhakta, 75, 230 N. Finley St., Athens, died Thursday, Jan. 1, 1998. A native of India, Mrs. Bhakta was a homemaker who had lived in Athens since 1983. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Sunday at the Bernstein Funeral Home. Survivors include her husband, Vallabhbhai Bhakia; two sons, Ramesh Bhakia and Chandra Bhakia, both of Athens; and four grandchildren. The family will receive friends 6:30-7:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Herschel D. Colvard Jefferson Herschel David Colvard, 81, of Mahaffey Street, Jefferson, died Friday, Jan. 2, 1998. A native of Oglethorpe County, Mr. Colvard was a son of the late David Nelms Colvard and Minnie Lee Maynard Colvard. He was the widower of Grace Simmons Colvard. He was a musician and grocery store clerk and of the Holiness faith. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Jackson Funeral Home. The Rev. Richard James will preside. Burial will be in Woodbine Cemetery. Survivors include a sister, Kathleen Smith, Atlanta; a brother, Carl Lee Colvard, Hull; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation is 2-5 p.m. today at the funeral home. J.C. Tilson Cornelia J.C. Tilson, 63, of Pine Street, died Thursday, Jan. 1, 1998. A native of Habersham County, Mr. Tilson was a son of Fannie Erwin Tilson and the late Ernest Tilson. He was an apple farmer and a U.S. Army veteran who served in the Korean War. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Whitfield Funeral Home. The Rev. Clarence Martin will officiate. Burial will be in the U.S. National Cemetery in Chattanooga, Tenn. In addition to his mother, survivors include three daughters, Vicki Holcomb, Penny Wise and Arlene Tilson, all of Clayton; two sisters, Jannie Baker, Maysville and Marie Collins, Carnesville; two brothers, Lawton Erwin, Cornelia and Tommy Tilson, Cornelia; and one grandchild. Dunbar Harrison Savannah Earl Dunbar Harrison, 94, died Friday, Jan. 2, 1998. A native of Augusta, Harrison received a law degree from the University of Georgia, and practiced law in Athens and Augusta before becoming an assistant prosecutor to the U.S. District Attorney in Savannah in 1930. After entering private practice again and serving as city attorney for Savannah, Harrison was appointed a Superior Court judge in 1956. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Christ Episcopal Church. The Rev. Marcus B. Robertson will officiate. Burial will be in Bonaventure Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Jeanne Choate Harrison; a daughter, Mary Bell Harrison Stolz, Atlanta; a son, Earl Dunbar Harrison Jr., Athens; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
