A native of Habersham County, Mr. Allen was a son of the late Rufus Lee Allen and Christine Aderhold. He was a general contractor and member of Beech Haven Baptist Church. Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Monday at Bridges Funeral Home with the Rev. Wes Owens officiating. Burial was in Oconee Hill Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Linda Wells Allen; three sons, Dwayne Allen, Athens, Jerry Allen, Savannah, and Chet Allen, Ft. Walton, Fla.; three sisters, Lena Parnham, Fairless Hill, Pa., Dolly Sansone, Chamblee, and Ellie Rohret, Athens; two brothers, Memphis Allen, Toccoa, and Rufus Bennard Allen, Cocoa, Fla.; and two grandchildren. Bailey, 83, of 145 Tara Way died Sunday, Aug. 2, 1998. A native of Clarke County, Mr. Bailey was a son of the late James Washington and Lucy Bowels Bailey. A veteran of World War II, he was retired from Gulf Oil Co. and a member of Chapelwood United Methodist Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2872 and the Georgia Power Co. Ambassador Club. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Oconee Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Peggy Little officiating. Survivors include his wife, Irene Finger Bailey; a son, James Clinton Bailey, Gainesville, Fla.; a granddaughter, two grandsons, a great-grandson and three nieces. Bellamy, 91, of 213 LeTourneau Drive died Monday, Aug. 3, 1998. A native of Franklin County, Mr. Bellamy was a son of the late John Wesley and Emma Lee Kesler Bellamy and widower of Vera Clarke Bellamy. A graduate of Ninth District A&M College, he was affiliated with Tugalo Gas Co. for 50 years and was a member of Monday Morning Coffee Club and First Baptist Church of Toccoa, where he was a member of Agoga Sunday School Class and served on the board of deacons. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Revs. Larry Earhart and Dale Twilley officiating. Burial will be in Stephens Memorial Gardens. Survivors include two daughters, Martha Rumsey, Clayton, and Becky Lay, Fernandina Beach, Fla.; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. A native of Hart County, Mr. McGarity was a son of the late Robert Lee and Chessie Joanna Rice McGarity. He was a farmer and co-owned and operated McGarity Brothers Appliance Store for more than 40 years and retired as a security guard at Johnson & Johnson. He was a member of Royston United Methodist Church, where he was former president of the Men's Club and a former Sunday School teacher. He was a charter member of Royston Lions Club, a Shriner, active in the local Boy Scouts and instrumental in developing Royston Little League. Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. today at Pruitte Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobby Anthony officiating. Ralph Patterson Carnesville Ralph Woodrow Patterson, 77, of 995 Bald Eagle Road, Ashland Community, died Sunday, Aug. 2, 1998. A native of Franklin County, Mr. Patterson was a son of the late Elisha Mason and Mary Elizabeth Norris Patterson. During World War II he served in Europe with the U.S. 3rd Army II Armored Division under General George Patton. He was a farmer and of the Methodist faith. Eunie Simmons Kannapolis, N.C. Eunie Dodd Simmons, 89, of 1203 Moss Ave. died Sunday, Aug. 2, 1998. A native of Madison County, Mrs. Simmons was a daughter of the late Frank Henderson and Jettie Pressley Dodd and widow of Clifford Lemuel Simmons. She was preceded in death by two sons, Waymon Simmons and Onnie Simmons. She was a homemaker and a member of North Kannapolis Baptist Church.
