Christian Royston Thurston C. Christian, 81, of 340 Cook St., formerly of Madison County, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 1998. A native of Madison County, Mr. Christian was a son of the late William and Alice Porterfield Christian. He was an equipment operator. Mr. Christian was twice married, first to the late Emma Landers Christian, second to Corene Boles Christian of Royston. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Pruitte Funeral Home with the Rev. Frank Owens officiating. Burial will be in Meadow Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Lester Smith, Carlton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Evelyn Christian, Nicholson, and Larry and Tonnye Christian, Hartwell; a stepson, Tommy Hill, Royston; two sisters, Ruth Huff and Trudie Hooper, both of Farmington; five grandsons, Stacey Threlkeld, Brandon, Daniel Threlkeld and Chad Threlkeld, both of Comer, Dean Christian, Mayesville, and Dennis Christian, Nicholson; a stepgranddaughter, Angela Smith, Lexington; three stepgrandsons, Michael Crump, Atlanta, Mitchel Crump, Anderson, S.C., and Alan Smith, Winterville; and four great-grandchildren. Tharon Dunn Elberton Tharon Dunn, 77, of 1953 Coldwater Road died Monday, Feb. 2, 1998. A native of Hart County, Mr. Dunn was a son of the late T.R. and Nellie Foster Dunn. He was a retired carpenter, home builder and farmer, and also served with the CCC. He was a member of Coldwater United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Coldwater UMC with the Revs. Mike Nickolich and Albert AsKew officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Frances Stowers Dunn; two sons, Jimmy Dunn and Marion Dunn, both of Elberton; a sister, Marie Jordan, Hartwell; three brothers, Stuart Dunn, Hartwell, and Carlton Dunn and Louie Dunn, both of Anderson, S.C.; and two grandchildren. He joined Rocky Bridge Baptist Church in Norwood, and later united with The Greater Level Hill Baptist Church, where he served as Sunday school superintendent for many years, deacon board secretary and as a member of various other auxiliaries.
