Manor Circle S.W. died Friday, Oct. 30, 1998. A native of Clarke County, Mrs. Carey was the widow of James Carey Sr. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church West. Services will be at noon Thursday at Ebenezer Baptist Church West with the Rev. Dr. Winfred M. Hope officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 11 a.m. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Cemetery. A native of Robbinsville, N.C., Mrs. Rice was a daughter of the late Lillie Letterman and James E. Rice and was the widow of William Harrison Head. She was a housewife. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Simmons Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Duff officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. David H. Hill, Madison; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Noah W. Rice, Chester, S.C.; and nieces and nephews. Donald M. Loomis St. James, Mo. Donald M. Loomis, 67, formerly of Athens, died Thursday, Aug. 27, 1998. Mr. Loomis was the public works director for Athens-Clarke County from September 1988 to January 1996. Services were Sept. 1 in St. James. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Loomis; two daughters, Laurie Crain and Ellen Loomis; a son-in-law, David Crain; and two grandchildren. Mr. Robison was a son of the late W.H. and Susie Pearl Jennings Robison. He served for 20 years in the Marine Corps. He organized the Winder High School and Jefferson High School bands in 1950 and was a member of First Christian Church, where he served as choir director for 40 years.
