A native of Madison County, Mrs. Coker was a daughter of the late James (Jim) and Ethel Brown King and the widow of L.T. Coker. She was a retired seamstress and a member of Vineyards Creek Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Pruitte Funeral Home, Royston, with the Revs. Robert Garrett and Ficklin Guin officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Royston. Survivors include a daughter, Janette C. Saylors, Washington; two sons, James Calvin Coker, Clyo, and Jimmy Coker, Colbert; a sister, Hersey Garner, Bowman; two brothers, J.W. The family members are at their respective homes and will receive friends 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Paul Cooke Athens Paul John Cooke, 88, of 577 Cherokee Ridge died Monday, March 2, 1998. A native of Junction City, Wis., Mr. Cooke was the widower of Jadwiga W. Cooke. He received a Ph.D. in English from the University of Illinois and taught humanities at Monticello and Lewis & Clarke College in Illinois prior to his retirement. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Evergreen Memorial Park. Survivors include a daughter, Pauline Georgakis, Athens, Greece; three sons, Peter Paul Cooke, Los Angeles, Calif., Michael J. Cooke, Chicago, Ill. and Thomas Merritt Cooke, Athens; two sisters, Bernice Cooke and Helen Cooke, both of Oak Park, Ill.; a brother, Chester Cooke, La Grange, Ill.; and five grandchildren. She was a seamstress at Hartwell Manufacturing Co. for 30 years and a member of Concord United Methodist Church. Page Sr. He was a carpenter and a crew member of a cutter rigged sailboat that sailed from Maine to Ireland in 1992.
