A native of Hall County, Mr. Bennett was a son of the late Cicero Cleveland and Emma Peck Bennett. He was a retired processor at Gold Kist and a member of Faith Baptist Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Jackson Funeral Home, Jefferson, with the Rev. Gerald Mitton officiating. Burial will be in Flowery Branch Cemetery. Survivors include two brothers, Fred Bennett, Maysville, and Cicero Bennett, Commerce. Dorothy Davis Toccoa Dorothy "Dot" Payne Davis, 80, of Brookhaven Circle died Wednesday, Sept. 2, 1998. A native of Stephens County, Mrs. Davis was a daughter of the late William Burton and Minnie Moseley Payne and was the widow of Joseph Eugene "Gene" Davis. She was a retired teacher having taught for more than 20 years in the Stephens County School System and was a member of Rock Creek Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school in the children's department and was director of Bible school for many years. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Rock Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Leon Miller and Crate Murphy officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include a daughter, Martha Lee Davis, Houston, Mo.; a son, William F. "Billy" Davis, Augusta; a sister, Jewell P. Clark, Toccoa; and two grandchildren. The family is at the home of Jewell Clark, 229 Harris St. Whitlock Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Grace Dwyer Winterville Grace Arnold Dwyer, 76, of 4 Senior Lane died Friday, Sept. 4, 1998. A native of Oglethorpe County, Mrs. Dwyer operated "The Hut" Restaurant, Crawford, and was a member of Bethesda Methodist Church, Lexington, and Woodmen of the World. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Bethesda Methodist Church with the Rev. Ralph Arnold officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include a son, Grady Johnson, Winterville; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. today at Hopkins Funeral Home, Washington. Marvin J. Furr Athens Marvin J. "Pork Chop" Furr, 47, of 582 Freeman Drive died Tuesday, Sept. 1, 1998. A native of Banks County, Mr. Furr was a son of Jurusa Furr, Commerce. Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Homer, with the Rev. Truman Bolton officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery. A native of Jackson County, Mr. Green was a son of the late Stevens and Helen Johnson. She was a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church. Anne Harris Washington Anne Allen Harris, 80, of 206 Chapman St. died Thursday, Sept. 3, 1998. A native of Wilkes County, Mrs. Harris was a daughter of the late James Guy and Kate Shelverton Allen and was the widow of Foster Harris. She was a homemaker, a graduate of Young Harris College and the University of Georgia, and a member of First United Methodist Church. Services will be at 3 p.m. to day in Resthaven Cemetery with the Revs. Chip Wilson and Elvyn McDonald officiating. Survivors include two sons, Allen Foster Harris, Colbert, and Edward Verner Harris, Marietta; and a grandchild. Patrik Keim Athens Patrik Keim, 38, died Monday, Aug. 31, 1998. A native of Sweetwater, Tenn., he was born Nov. 11, 1958, a son of Peggy M. Keim, Cartersville. He was well known in the art community around Athens and will be sincerely missed by his many friends and family. Survivors, in addition to his mother, include a brother, Mike Keim, Newberry, S.C.; and a sister, Nicki Keim Peace, West Monroe, La. Medical College of Georgia, Augusta, is in charge of arrangements. Sonny Phillips Royston Edward L. "Sonny" Phillips, 60, of 2141 Hale Crossing Road died Friday, Sept. 4, 1998. A native of Franklin County, Mr. Phillips was a son of the late Leon and Gertie Mae Belk Phillips. He was employed by Oxford of Bowman for many years and was owner and operator of Phillips Bar-B-Que. Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Pruitte Funeral Home with the Rev. Dennis Kesler officiating. Burial will be in Zidon Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Jean Ashworth Phillips; a daughter, Brenda Cothran, Royston; a son, Tracy Phillips, Royston; and a grandson. A native of New York City, Mrs. Samuel was a medical health auditor. Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Ingram Brothers Funeral Home, Sparta, with the Rev. C.S. Lott officiating. Burial will be in New Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors include her husband, Errol Samuel, Los Angeles; two sons, William Drumright and Eric Drumright, both of Athens; a sister, Yvonne Sarah Bell, New York; a brother, William "Marie Irene" Watkins, Sparta; and three grandchildren. William Schlotzhauer Athens William Stokes Schlotzhauer, 60, of 3495 Old Lexington Road died Tuesday, Sept. 1, 1998. A native of Philadelphia, Mr. Schlotzhauer was a son of Sarah Schlotzhauer. He graduated from Providence College, R.I., and was a research chemist for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Patricia Schlotzhauer; and two sons, Jon Schlotzhauer and Cory Schlotzhauer. The family is at the residence. Joseph Alfred Thomas, 83, of 127 Collier Road died Thursday, Sept. 3, 1998. A native of Stephens County, the Rev. Thomas was a son of the late Samuel and Matilda Nunnamaker Thomas and was twice married, first to the late Anne P. Thomas. He was an ordained Assembly of God minister and pastored churches in New York and New Jersey and served as supply minister at Faith Memorial Assembly of God and Glad Tidings Assembly of God, of which he was a member. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Glad Tidings Assembly of God with the Rev. Mark Anthony officiating. Burial will be in Stephens Memorial Gardens. Survivors include his wife, Stella Podwinska Thomas; a daughter, Kathleen Gray, Atlanta; two stepdaughters, Lillian Panasy, Naples, Fla., and Jeannie Kean, Springfield, Mo.; a brother, David Thomas, Atlanta; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
