A native of Hancock County, Mrs. Alexander was a daughter of the late James and Rosa Howell. She was a member of the Springfield Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Second Baptist Church with the Rev. J.T. Barnett officiating. The body will be placed in the church at noon. Burial will be in Kilpatrick Cemetery in White Plains. Survivors include two sons, Jewell Allen, Atlanta, and Jimmy Allen, Hampton, Va.; one step-daughter, Gloria Bass, New York; one step-son, Calvin Crenshaw, Atlanta; two sisters, Lula Mae (Money) Mapp, White Plains, and Sadie Alexander, Atlanta; 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 10 a.m.-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Watts Funeral Home in Union Point, is in charge of arrangements. Julian A. Bandy Fort Myers, Fla. Dr. Julian A. Bandy, 92, of Fort Myers, Fla., died Friday, June 5, 1998. Dr. Bandy, a native of Kissimmee, Fla., was a son of the late Lee and Rebecca Burkhardt Bandy. He was preceded in death by a son, Julian Lee Bandy. He was a well-known pastor, evangelist, conference speaker, and administrator. He graduated from Toccoa Falls College in 1924. He furthered his education in "Missions" at Nyack (NY) Missionary Alliance in 1926. He served in pastorates in churches of the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Melrose, Fla., Tampa, Fla., Richmond, Va., Asheville, N.C., and New York City, N.Y. In 1952 he came to Toccoa Falls as Assistant to President Dr. Richard A. Forrest. Dr. Bandy was elected President of Toccoa Falls Institute from 1957-1974 and served as Chancellor of Toccoa Falls from 1983-1998. He served on the Board of Managers of the Christian and Missionary Alliance from 1953-1967, served as corporate vice president of the Christian and Missionary Alliance from 1967-1976. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Toccoa First Alliance Church with the Revs. Ferrell Towns and Dr. Paul Alford officiating. Burial will follow at Toccoa Falls Campus Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Deloris Burns Bandy, Ft. Myers, Fla.;, Grace Bandy Wingert, Orlando, Fla., and Margaret Ann Bandy Koppe, Bergenfield, N.J. one son, Leland Bandy, Columbia, S.C.; one step-son, Stan Burns, Atlanta; three step-daughters, Judith Plumb, Atlanta, Joanne Williams, Tulsa, Okla., and Nansie Ike, Ivory Coast, Africa; a sister, Louise Cavanaugh, Orlando, Fla.; 20 grandchildren and step-grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren. Hoyt Cash Hoschton Mr. Hoyt Cash, 83, died Friday, June 5, 1998. A native of Jackson County, Mr. Hoyt was a son of the late Preston and Florence Bryant Cash. Mr. Cash was a former resident of Hall County and Pooler but had lived in Jackson County for most of his life. He was a former salesman for McEver Packing Company of Talmo and was a member of Walnut Fork Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher and Superintendent of Sunday School. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today at Walnut Fork Baptist Church with the Revs. Tim Strickland and Kenneth Brewer officiating. The remains will be placed in the church at 2:30 p.m. Burial will be at the church cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Beatrice Cash; three sons, James Cash, Athens, Bobby Cash, Braselton, and Larry Cash of Gainesville; one sister, Charlotte Nunn, Marietta; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Robert G. Hale Warner Robins Robert G. Hale, 68, of 111 Kingsnoll Dr., died Friday, June 5, 1998. A native of Athens, Mr. Hale was the son of the late James Albert and Sara Wallace Hale. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Asbury Sunday School Class. He was also a member of the Phi Mu Honorary Society. Mr. Hale was retired from the Houston County Board of Education where he served as band director for Northside High School. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Trinity United Methodist Church with the Revs. Robert Beckum and Bill Woodson officiating. Burial will follow in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Joyce P. Hale; one daughter, Sandi II. Macomber, Poway, Calif.; three sons, Chris Hale, Portland, Ore., David Hale, Bonaire , and Steven Hale, Conyers; three sisters, Sybil Cooper, Stratham, Doris Cromer, Metter, and Jean Basart , San Diego , Calif.; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild. A native of Hall County, Mrs. Massey was a daughter of the late Horace Leonard and Emma Turner Brumbalow and was widow of Cullen Massey. She was a housewife and a resident at the Riverside Nursing Facility. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Simmons Funeral Home with Dr. Jim Ross officiating. The body will be placed in the church from 1-2 p.m. Burial will follow in Madison City Cemetery. Survivors include two daughters, Rachael Hogan, Thomaston and Judy Whelcher, Madison; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Minnie L. McFarlin Martin Minnie Lee LeCroy McFarlin, 87, of 90 Pulliam Raod, died Saturday, June 6, 1998. A native of Martin, she was the daughter of the late John and Zibiah Dalrymple LeCroy and widow of Noel McFarlin. Mrs. McFarlin worked for many years as a seamstress for Wright Manufacturing. She was a member of the Tuesday morning prayer group and the WMU of Hunter's Creek Baptist Church and was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Monday at the New Bethel Baptist Church with the Revs. C. Roy Smith and Kevin Kurtz officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Survivors include a daughter, Glenda Slaton, Canon; four sons, Joel McFarlin, Denman McFarlin, and Travis McFarlin, all of Martin, and Wendell (Pete) McFarlin, Toccoa; two sisters, Ossie Bryant, Commerce, and Beulah Henson, Toccoa; two brothers, Thomas R. LeCroy, Carnesville, and Johnny A. LeCroy, Toccoa; eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Oxford Watkinsville James R. Oxford, 35, of 1100 Briarwood Trail, died Friday, June 5, 1998. A native of Los Angeles County, Calif., Mr. Oxford was a son of James Franklin and Naeko Tonoshiro Oxford. He had lived in the Athens area for the past 12 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran and graduated from UGA in 1990 with a Masters in Education. He was employed by Clark Industrial Automation where he worked as a computer draftsman and attended Briarwood Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today in Briarwood Baptist Church with the Rev. Dan Fuller officiating. Survivors include his wife, Aleisa Linville Oxford; two sons, James Matthew Oxford and Jared Hugh Oxford, both of Watkinsville; parents, Jim and Naeko Oxford, Midwest City, Okla.; and a sister, Carolyn Oxford, San Antonio, Texas. Pallbearers will be James Daniels, Scott Sikes, John Gibbs, Bryan Miller, Earl Turner and Don Bullard. The James Oxford Memorial Fund has been set up at Oconee State Bank. Peterson Demorest Jewell Rivers Peterson, 88, died Friday, June 5, 1998. A native of Laurens County, she was the daughter of the late Kinney and Mittie Stuckey Southerland and widow of Joel F. Rivers. She was a member of the Faith Primitive Baptist Church in Savannah where she served as choir director and organist. Mrs. Peterson was a homemaker. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Cadwell Baptist Church, Cadwell, with Mike Taylor and Lee Darragh officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Cadwell Cemetery. Survivors include one daughter, Bebe Yarbrough, Baldwin; one sister, Joyce Austin, Winter Garden, Fla.; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
