A native of Franklin County, Mrs. Bruce was a daughter of the late James and Reba Mae Garner Carter. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Pruitte Funeral Home, Royston, with the Revs. Dan Bailey and Gary McWhorter officiating. Burial will be in Bowers Memorial Garden. Survivors include her husband, Herman L. Bruce; two daughters, Ruby Joyce Garrett and Debra Lynn Robertson, both of Canon; two sons, Ricky Lee Bruce, Hartwell, and Michael Scott Bruce, Canon; six sisters, Annie Bell Hudson, Linda Fowler and Vicki Beard, all of Canon, Mary Sue Allen and Wanda Carey, both of Royston, and Peggy Gunter, Townsville, S.C.; four brothers, Durham Carter, Tom Carter, Will Carter and Roy Lee Carter, all of Canon; three grandchildren and a great-grandchild. The family is at the residence and will receive friends 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mozell Dye Winder Mozell Dell Dye died Friday, Nov. 6, 1998. Mrs. Dye was a daughter of the late John and Gertrude Phigpen and was the widow of the late Hardy Dye. She was a housewife and of the Methodist faith. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Smith Funeral Home with the Revs. Jim Stephens and Joe Bennett officiating. Burial will be in Barrow Memorial Gardens. Lula Belle Eberheart Athens Lula Belle "Aunt Lue" Eberheart, 90, of 242 Pittard Road died Thursday, Nov. 5, 1998. A native of Wilkes County, Mrs. Eberheart was a daughter of the late Nas and Cora Bryant Welborn. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at New Grove Baptist Church, Winterville, with the Rev. Dr. James Washington Jr. officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include two sons, Johnny Lee Flint and Robert Lewis Flint Sr., both of Athens; a foster son, Brant Cooper, Athens; two grandchildren raised in the home, Darlene Faust and Robert Flint Jr.; four other grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Jordan, 80, of 71 Donahoo Road died Friday, Nov. 6, 1998. A native of Jackson County, born Dec. 1, 1917, Mr. Jordan was a son of the late Gordan and Delia Parson Jordan. He was retired from Harmony Grove Mills and a member of Riverside Baptist Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, 1998, at Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Rev. Dorothy McDonald Comer Dorothy Mae Wright McDonald, 57, of 1959 Comer Road died Friday, Nov. 6, 1998. A native of Arkansas, Mrs. McDonald was a daughter of the late Johnny Cecil and Wilma Wright and was the widow of Paul McDonald. She was a housewife and a member of Collier Baptist Church. A native of Hart County, Mrs. Segars was a daughter of the late Ank and Lila Chastain Dunn and was the widow of David S. Segars. She was retired from Newton Mill as a cloth inspector and a member of Reed Creek Baptist Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Reed Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Ted Kelley officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include two daughters, Phyllis Osborne and Jill Greenway, both of Hartwell; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Slaughter Jr., 85, of West Main Street died Thursday, Nov. 5, 1998. A native of Clarke County, Mr. Slaughter was a son of the late Nat G. Slaughter Sr. and Manie Fain Slaughter. He was twice married, first to the late Nancy Ivey Slaughter. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia where he was a member of Sigma Chi, Gridiron Honorary Club, Glee Club and the varsity golf and basketball teams. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Rotary Club and American Legion, and was a controller and tax manager for New Riverside Ochre Co. until retiring in 1983. Services were Friday at Episcopal Church of the Ascension with the Revs. Tom Martin and Louis Tonsmeire officiating. Burial was in Shadow Lawn Cemetery, La Grange. Survivors include his wife, Virginia Trotter Slaughter; six children, Nat Slaughter III, Bob Slaughter and Ginger Hammond, all of Atlanta, Jim Slaughter, Cartersville, San Hammond, Rome, and Rosie Persmark, Chapel Hill, N.C.; a sister, Nell Dye, Gainesville; 12 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. A native of Oconee County, S.C., Mr. Smith was a son of the late Wilburn H. and Essie Jane Spencer Smith and was the widower of Willie Mitchell Walters Smith. He was a retired dairy farmer and retired from Coats & Clark. He was a member and deacon of Old Liberty Baptist Church and had served as church clerk and Sunday school superintendent, and was a member of the Men's Sunday School Class. He was a member of Westminster Masonic Lodge. Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Old Liberty Baptist Church with the Revs. Reginald Pressley and Edward Hyde officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Lonnie Wilder Elberton Lonnie Ray Wilder, 50, of 1827 Shallow Creek Road died Thursday, Nov. 5, 1998. A native of Elberton, Mr. Wilder was a son of Herman Monroe Wilder Sr., Elberton, and Helen M. Brady Orso, Patterson, Calif. He had been a deputy sheriff in Alameda County, Calif., and was of the Baptist faith. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Deep Creek Baptist Church with the Rev.
