Beggs Sr. Canon Dewey H. Beggs Sr., 72, of 143 Eagle Grove School Road, died Sunday, Dec. 6, 1998. A native of Hart County, Mr. Beggs was a son of the late Charles William and Lois McGee Beggs. He was preceded in death by a brother, Spurgeon Beggs. He was owner and president of Beggs Farm Supply Inc. for 47 years and was a United States Army veteran. He was a member of the Hart County Cattleman's Association and was a bus driver for the Hart County school system for 26 years. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, the Adult Men's Sunday School Class, the church choir and the Joy Club. Services will be 3 p.m. today at Bethany Baptist Church with the Revs. Richard Bielski and Dalton Carrington officiating. Burial will be in Nancy Hart Memorial Park. The body will be placed in the church at 2:30 p.m. Survivors include his wife, Geneva Hilley Beggs; a daughter and son-in-law, Lynn B. and Grant Martin, Bowersville; a son and daughter-in-law, Dewey "Herby" and Carol Beggs Jr., Canon; a sister, Vivian Routhieaux, Anderson, S.C.; two brothers, James Beggs, Royston, and Garland Beggs, Hartwell; seven grandchildren, Jon Beggs, Canon, Suzanne M. Banister, Hartwell, Jill M. Seymour, Lavonia, Steven Martin, Paul Martin, Kerri Martin, and David Martin, all of Bowersville; and eight great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jon Beggs, Steven Martin, Paul Martin, David Martin, Grant Banister and Herman Herring. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Beggs Farm Supply, Gene Marcus, Joey Bennett, Tony Ferguson, Hank Baskins, and Bethany Baptist Church Men's Adult Sunday School Class. Belcher Madison Mary H. Belcher, 84, of 584 N. Main St. died Monday, Dec. 7, 1998. A native of Greenville, Ala., Mrs. Belcher was a daughter of the late Thaddeus William Hentz and Ester Martin Hentz. She was a secretary for International Paper Company and was a member of Madison Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, Thomas Johnson Chapter, the Colonial Dames of the Seventeenth Century, and the Society of the Descendants of the Colonial Clergy. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Madison Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Chuck Hasty officiating. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park. Survivors include her husband, David P. Belcher Jr.; a daughter, Mrs. Robert E. Fears, Madison; a son, David P. Belcher III, Madison; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the residence. Simmons Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Timothy David Faust Athens Timothy David Faust, Ph.D., 43, died Saturday, Dec. 5, 1998. A native of Pennsylvania, Dr. Faust was a graduate of Penn State University and received his masters and doctoral degrees in wood technology at the University of Georgia. He served as associate professor in the Warnell School of Forest Resources, where he was responsible for teaching and research in wood products. He was Assistant Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 22, past chairman of the Southeast Section of the Forest Products Society, and a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, the Georgia Forestry Association, and the American Society of Agricultural Engineers. Services will be 3 p.m. today at Holy Cross Lutheran Church with the Revs. David Hart and Ed Ralph officiating. Survivors include his wife, Lynn Olyha Faust; a daughter, Christina Faust, Athens; a son, David Faust, Athens; a sister, Ann Lee, Hong Kong; and a brother, Christopher Faust, Pa. Pallbearers will be Mike Azain, Alex Clark, Scott Hafner, Rudy Kragerer, Jim Rundorff, and Glenn Wiggans. Hutchison Athens Grace Hogg Hutchison, 93, of 150 Winfield Place died Monday, Dec. 7, 1998. A native of Barnwell County, S.C., Mrs. Hutchison was a daughter of the late George P. and Sarah Jane Craddock Hogg and the widow of L.C. Hutchison. She was a retired administrative assistant with the Selective Service System. She was a member of the daughters of the American Revolution and was a member of Tuckston United Methodist Church. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Barnwell County Memorial Cemetery. Survivors include a daughter, Jane Burnette, Athens; four grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today at Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, East. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity or church of your choice. David Lee Moore Toccoa David Lee Moore, 29, of Crump Street, died Saturday, Dec. 5, 1998. A native of Stephens County, Mr. Moore was a son of the late Lonnie Joe and Bettie Lou Thacker Moore. He was an employee of Johns Roofing. Services will be 2 p.m. today at Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Rev. Clarence Martin officiating. Burial will be in the Providence United Methodist Church Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, April Evans Moore; a daughter, Kayla Moore, Toccoa; two sons, Austin Moore, of the home, and Michael Moore, Toccoa; and three brothers, Carl Moore and Tim Moore, both of Toccoa, and James Moore, Demorest. Pallbearers will be David Maye, Roye Sumpter, Terry Jenkins, James Moore, Roger Jenkins and Michael Wilson. Irma Christina Morgan Athens Irma Christina Morgan, 96, died Friday, Dec. 4, 1998. A native of Effingham County, Ms. Morgan was a graduate of Mount Amoena Seminary, N.C., received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English at Georgia College, Milledgeville, and received her Masters degree in English from Peabody University, Tenn., and in literature and counseling from the University of Georgia. She was an English teacher in North Carolina, Gibson, and in Bainbridge. She taught elementary school in Steinhatchee, Fla. She was a school counselor in Toccoa and Gainesville. She was a recipient of the Georgia State Teacher of the Year and was president and active member of Delta Tappa Gamma Teachers sorority. She was a member of Wingard Memorial Lutheran Church, Clyo, and was an associate member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Services were Monday at Wingard Memorial Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Clyo. Survivors include a sister, Anne Cashion, Jacksonville, Fla; a sister-in-law, Gladys Morgan, Clyo; and nieces and nephews.
